We have slowly become more and more impatient with Jai Paul and his frequency of musical output or lack there of. To date, he only has two incredible songs to his name, "BTSTU" and this past year's "Jasmine" . We are hoping this year is the year that we get a proper album from the artist, however, in the meantime, we are going to have to be satisfied with his contribution to Big Boi's latest LP, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumours , titled "High Res". "Higher Res" only came with the Deluxe version Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors , so it perhaps escaped notice even more so than the rest of the album––which itself probably suffered from its year-end release date. Among the year-end noise was more than a little praise for Jai Paul's second song ever, "Jasmine" (show me a best songs of 2012 list that didn't include it), and so its somewhat remarkable that more hasn't been made of his appearance on Big Boi's album. So we recently heard the first of two Little Dragon features on Big Boi's Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors LP, last week in "Mama Told Me". Today, the Swedish duo is back and brought Jai Paul with them. "Higher Res", may be one of Big Boi's oddest tracks, but I won't question the leader of Hip-Hop's most wanted group. Jai Paul has been pretty quiet since the amazing " BSTU " dropped back, well, demos floated around since 2010, and then last year a nice finalised version hit the net and was posted everywhere! This weekend Jai Paul took to his soundcloud to upload a brand new track titled "Jasmine" which is a welcome return featuring some deep ass-lines and is every bit as moreish as the song that preceded it. Since the release of his first ever single «BTSTU» , which even made it into the UK charts in 2011, we didn't hear that much (nothing actually!) from Jai Paul . But now – finally! – there's a new Jai Paul demo track floating around the interwebz:  «Jasmine» . This post-modern R&B banger will be out as a single on UK's XL Recordings later this year.

After totally leaving us hanging with the awesome " BTSTU ", Jai Paul swings around and drops off his new single, "Jasmine". There is no word on an official release of this single or a full XL Recordings project quite yet, but this is a damn good sign. You've got to love those slick guitar licks and hand claps, whether or not this song is on the same level as "BTSTU".

We spoke to soon when we said Shabazz's remix of Spank Rock/Santigold's "Car Song" was going to dominate our weekend listening. You absolutely have to check out Jai Paul's brand new single, "Jasmine," the follow-up to one of 20112s best songs, "BTSTU." This was so worth the wait.
