There is a really well executed track in the middle of this dubstep album that samples the drill sergeant from the movie 'Full Metal Jacket' called 'Warface'. It's as good as vocal sampling gets in dubstep. This is album is actually more of a series and will be available in Vinyl format, split over 4 formats as well as digital only. Here are The Jakes, an 'alternative indie' band from California. They released an EP titled This is...The Jakes in 2007 and another one in 2008 called Shake My Hand . I've listened to Shake My Hand , and it definitely took me by surprise. They have a mellow yet very solid sound with sweet vocals and a strong percussion. The band also incorporates discreet elements of folk and blues into their songs, making their sound hard to describe.
