Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett has created an animated video for their recent collaboration with James Murphy and Andre 3000.

The much hyped song was great fun, with a standout verse from André 3000, and now the accompanying video will make your morning a million times better. With Gorillaz' arch animator Jamie Hewlett on board, the video was never going to be dull, but this 5 minute clip is packed so full of amusing touches and oblique references that it needs watching a few times to take everything in. Expect 3 Stacks in a fridge, bowls of ears and a sweat collector. Brilliant.

After unleashing the ridiculously fresh sounding "DoYaThing" last week we now get the official visuals for the collaboration track between Gorillaz , Andre 3000 and James Murphy . The video sees some very nice looking CGI like Gorillaz members going about their business in their house. Murdoch looks particularly rough as he uses a chair lift to go down the stairs! Last weekend at Sundance Film Festival, Rough House Pictures premiered the Rick Alverson-directed film, The Comedy , which stars Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, and also former LCD Soundsytem frontman James Murphy. As a press release notes, The Comedy offers "the audience a look behind the curtain at the cost of American Utopianism and its unintentional byproduct of numbness and disconnect." Only listen to the first couple seconds of it and you'd think "Black Cloud" was James Murphy's grand entrance into the gloom game. Keep listening, though, and you'll realize this layered masterpiece from the UK's Mozart Parties is far less depressing than the track's title and initial fare may suggest. If anything, I picture clouds parting once James Bennett's hopeful vocals open over the song's rolling bass line and bright guitars.
