Director Jamie Caliri was given free reign to make the video for The Shins, “The Rifle’s Spiral” as awesome as can be. The result is an odd stop motion short narrative, that plays off like a dark Tim Burton creation. If anyone has Nintendo 3DS, you can check out an alternate 3D version of the video. We had a peek at the Shins' Nintendo 3DS-premiered, 3-D video for Port Of Morrow single " The Rifle's Spiral ," and now James Mercer and Nintendo Corp have allowed the internet to enjoy the creepy, Coraline -y animated thing in full (albeit in 2-D).
