The Sundance Film Festival is in full swing and the celebrities are coming in droves! Over the weekend, celebs like Jason Mraz, Wiz Khalifa and Gary Clark Jr. stopped by the Bing Bar which hosted musical performances throughout the day. First was an acoustic performance by a shaggy-looking, Jason Mraz who debuted some songs from his soon-to-be-released album. It is with a heavy heart that the music industry, and the world, says goodbye to one of the greatest female vocalists of all time today. Etta James , the legendary soul singer most famously known for her 1960 rendition of the softly swaying love song "At Last," passed away in California on Friday (January 20) after a years-long battle with leukemia. James' impact has reverberated through nearly six decades of pop music and will continue to influence future generations of musicians, as evidenced by the umpteen covers of her hits by artists and reality TV talent competition hopefuls [...]

Rihanna LMFAO better pad those speedos; Rihanna just delivered a major spanking. Two weeks after having its eight-week reign ended by LMFAO's confident anthem, "Sexy And I Know It," RiRi's "We Found Love" returns to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. LMFAO, meanwhile, are sexily wiggling with their former chart-topper at No. 2. Now at nine chart-topping weeks strong, "We Found Love" further solidifies itself as Rihanna's longest-running No. 1 single, smashing the seven-week reigns of her singles "Umbrella" and "Love The Way You [...]

Mutherfucking Jaso n Mraz gets me every time, every time... I adore him, I adore his music, & there is no stopping us now (pun intended). Here we have his brand new single, "I Won't Give Up" (Lyric Video below). There are a few songs you can hear once and know that shit is going on repeat, this is one of them. In what seems to be some sort of a spiritual gospel, this record has everything you need for some inspiration. [...]
2012 has begun. Deal with it. We've looked into our crystal ball and come up with a few things we think would happen this year, besides you know, the apocalypse. Here we go! Seeing the success of Kanye and Jay-Z's Watch The Throne collaboration, Canadian rappers Shad and K-os will collaborate on an album as well, only to realize that Ni**as in Paris,Ontario doesn't have the same power The declining American economy forces Ke$ha to change her name to K€sha Doctors are shocked when Beyonce does not give [...]

Christmas, Three Years Ago, I started this blog. Every year of my life has been a blessing on many levels. Not so much on the blog front, but definitely on the personal front. This blog was made to help promote new music and a venting board for myself. It has done both and also been super time consuming. I love it at times and I also want to give it all up five minutes later. But I don't, not yet, tee-hee. This years Christmas Compilation - Culture PopMas 2011, is probably on my favorites from the last three years. As [...]

During a recent conference call to promote the upcoming TV premiere of the US version of the X Factor, Simon Cowell revealed a list of songs that he never wants to hear again at an audition. The snarky reality TV talent show judge lists R Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly", Etta James' "At Last", The Righteous Brothers' "Unchained Melody", Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" and John Legend's "Ordinary People" as songs that have been over used in auditions that he never wants to hear someone do it again. Make sure you take note of that if you're planning to audition [...]

I've been to quite a few concerts this summer and looking back, it's funny to think about the differences in the crowds. At Britney Spears , there were gay men in glittery eyeshadow and booty shorts all around me. At Jack's Mannequin and Guster , the audience consisted of suburban white kids with backwards baseball caps, flip-flops and far too many popped collars. And at Sara Bareilles ' sold out show last night at Central Park's outdoor Rumsey Playfield venue, the crowd was comprised entirely of hipsters in thrift store-purchased 500 [...]
Lucinda Williams and Calexico Join Tom Russell on Dylan's 'A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall'

For My Rocket To Come.

ed sheeran - you need me, i don't need you [singer/songwriter/vocal rapper ed sheeran has charmed his way into the top 10 with his catchy folk anthem ' the a team ' and now the boy offers up his other side with this new sing/rap hybrid release (there are elements of jason mraz here and that's totally fine, since we love the diversity and longevity of that mans' talents). definitely having his moment, ed sheeran!] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld
