If the name JaVonte looks familiar, chances are you've been listening to some of the sharpest rappers of our time like, say, Ab-Soul and Kendrick Lamar . The soulful crooner appeared on, among other cuts, Soul's fantastic "Empathy" and Lamar's superb "Opposites Attract". Here, however, JaVonte takes center stage over an uber-smooth instrumental from in-house TDE producer Tae Beast . The west-coast keeps on delivering hip hop talent by the truck-load. It's hard to keep up with the number of quality releases coming from this zone, but we definitely try our hardest. This time, Black Hippy memeber, Ab-Soul has provided a video for his track 'Empathy', which will be featured on his album 'Control System'

With his Control System LP only a short while away (May 11th), Ab-Soul drops the video for "Empathy", featuring Alori Joh & JaVonte. The production is provided by Skhye Hutch and the video is directed by JeromeD. This one will get you excited for the LP for sure.

Ab-Soul is the furthest-out of the four rappers in Black Hippy, and his solo project Control System , based on tracks like " Terrorist Threats " and " SOPA ," seems to be coming together beautifully. On new track "Empathy," Soul brings his druggily bugged-out aesthetic to bear on the standard rap-loverman track, turning it into something freakily dazed. New track and video released from Top Dawg and Soul which features the late Alori Joh. I like how Ab-Soul is dropping these new visuals because it's really getting everyone pumped up for the release of his new project, Control System, which is set to drop in approximately 10 days from now.

Wow, I can't say I expected Ab-Soul's next leak to sound like this. Especially after hearing Ab's previous single, " SOPA ". Taking a load off of his shoulders, the man drops the furious rap style for a more laid back vibe on his new Alori Joh and JaVonte-assisted track, "Empathy". While we knew this TDE artist was skilled, this proves yet again how vast his repertoire was. And the Jerome D.-directed visuals aren't too shabby, either. Ab-Soul's Control System  is due out May 11.

On the latest visual offering off of Soul's upcoming Control System album, he tries his hand behind the mic on more of an r&b tip. Yea, he does kick a few bars, but he is mainly harmonizing on this one & it doesn't sound bad at all. Definitely another dope cut off of the upcoming LP. Check the video below.
