After getting our hands on the snippets , it appears the entire Cruel Summer is now available for streaming. While some of the snippets were underwhelming, perhaps a full listen will do a better job of winning us over. The opening track with R. Kelly is rather lovely, for example. Even though we had heard that Jay Electronica, Frank Ocean, and Yasiin Bey were slated to appear, they are nowhere to be found here. Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Big Sean... need I say more? The first song off of the Cruel Summer G.O.O.D. Music collaboration album is here, in CDQ, and it's huge. On a side note, I would refer to a group of friends as a click, not a clique, and only recently found out clique is even a word. Interesting that within 2 weeks there's a song about it, verrrryyyy interesting.
Unfortunately, Cruel Summer did not drop earlier in the summer but it will be here on September 18 . We have a new song from the anticipated project. The Hit-Boy -produced "Clique" which is studded with Big Sean, Kanye West and Jay-Z is here in full. We are intrigued by the beat; the way the beat goes from minimal to maximal, especially that minimal bit. The chemistry of Hit-Boy and G.O.O.D. Music is a match, a match made in heaven.
