Jesus, I don't even know what to do with this. At a small Sundance show last week, Courtney Love played an acoustic cover of Jay-Z's " 99 Problems ," and it is ridiculous. The pros: Courtney's voice is still a powerful weapon, and she still has that husky emotive rasp to it even when she's quasi-rapping; the finale, where she repeats the "hold my gun" line over and over, is powerful. The cons: She is Courtney love covering "99 Problems," and she leaves at least one N-bomb intact. So. I mean. I don't know. Watch fan footage below. [...]

It's not even particularly surprising that Courtney Love decided to cover Jay-Z 's "99 Problems" during a concert in Utah. She's had her fair share of problems, and the message seems like something that, however indirectly, Courtney Love could relate to. But the fact that she decided to keep the entire song in tact is a little awkward, especially when Love drops the n-word and sings about her "black ass." Then again, it is Courtney Love we're talking about.

Starting with a chopped and screwed version of the track, the black and white video (directed by Laban Pheidias for The Uprising Creative) plays more like a commercial than a music video. Since Justin Timberlake unveiled a short video and web countdown last week the world has been ready to welcome back one of pop's super heavyweights from the (relative) wilderness.
