J. Cole and Miguel teamed up earlier this year for "Power Trip," and it's one of our favorite hip-hop cuts of the year. Brooding yet light, it highlights both performers' ability to shine with minimal, streamlined elements underneath their vocals. Cole produced the track himself (which is off Born Sinner , out June 25) and up top he talks about how the song came together. Cole says he knew he had a gem after sending the beat to acclaimed producer No I.D. [...]

Power Trip is one of the few hip hop songs that I’ve really liked this year (damn that beat), it's off J. Cole's forthcoming album Born Sinner . The video has nudity etc. so be careful where you watch it.
Love will make people do the wildest things...and it appears J. Cole caught the "love bug" in the official video for “Power Trip” featuring Miguel. [...]
J. Cole featuring Miguel For those who remember J. Cole's 2009 The Warm Up mixtape track, " Dreams ," the plot in his new video may seem eerily familiar. "Power Trip" finds the rapper pining for co-star Miguel's girl and by the end of the video, he resorts to something pretty dramatic to get her. It's a fitting story for a song who's distressing hook states "she got me up all night/ constant drinkin' and love songs." Watch the video above. ( Miss Info [...]
Some pal J. Cole turns out to be; after enlisting Miguel for chorus duty on Cole's Born Sinner single "Power Trip," the rapper repays the Grammy winning crooner by bumping him off in the song's music video. At least we think it's Miguel who gets whacked — it's not quite clear. At any rate, J. sits brooding in a car outside of a house while Miguel and his woman part for the day. The next thing you know, a car containing Cole and an [...]

While biblical rapping may be unlikely to catch on as a new hit genre anytime soon, count on this man to go down in the books. Also soliciting all Catfish opportunities for this weekend here & here . In a surprising turn of events, Compton lyricist Kendrick Lamar brought out Lil Wayne at Cali Christmas, right after "Michael Jordan" got its play. Seeing K.Dot and Weezy share a stage is interesting, since they represent completely different sects of musical expression, but perhaps the juxtaposition of the two will help many realize how expansive hip-hop has become. Check it out above and, regardless of your opinion of the collaboration, at least appreciate these two coming together. Hit the jump to see Kendrick perform songs with even more talented artists, including [...]
Kendrick Lamar was one of the many performers during last night's Cali Christmas show hosted by Power 106. And to say he owned the damn night would be an understatement. For one, he kicked things off with " Westside, Right on Time ", which absolutely should have been a bonus track on good kid, m.A.A.d. city . From there, he rocked joints like "A.D.H.D.", "The Recipe", "P & P 1.53 with Ab-Soul , and spit his verse from A$AP Rocky's "Fuckin' Problems". Lamar also brought out the other members of Black Hippy along with J. Cole [...]
![J. Cole Announces Born Sinner LP [Music]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4602123_lg.jpg)
J. Cole took to his UStream Monday night to announce the title and release date for his much anticipated sophomore album. Born Sinner will be here on his birthday, January 28th.
During our extensive coverage of Kendrick Lamar and his fan-fucking-tastic new album , I kept seeing his contemporaries' names thrown around in terms of other rappers who have debuted these past few years. One MC I kept seeing mentioned was J. Cole, whose own proper debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story , was an unbalanced, albeit promising, project. He's been sounding inspired and fired up lately, which leaves me anticipating his newly announced sophomore album. Cole is calling is Born Sinner , a theme that gets some life in the teaser video below. [...]
First Things First The fact that this is already playing in a club (?) in South Bend should speak to the power a strange asian man with a camera has over the general public. Furthermore, rumors of a Brobible appearance at a certain house this weekend are starting to take shape. Have some tune. Psy - Gangnam Style J. Cole - I’m A Fool Cece Peniston - Finally

It's been a minute since I've seen J. Cole featured here on Word Is Bond, and I'm not sure why. Maybe because of his relative mainstream success. Well even still he's dope and this is an unreleased track which he debuted at Rock The Bells a couple of days ago, over a rather rough cut of Cee Lo Green's Fool For You. Don't let that influence your thoughts on the MC though - he kills it.
During his set earlier tonight at Rock The Bells 2012 J. Cole debuted a brand new song titled "I'm A Fool". It seems like live performances are become the forum for new material from Jerome. You can stream the video above, and check out more performances of the night, including sets from 2 Chainz , DMX , Kendrick Lamar , ScHoolboy Q , Kid Cudi , Hit Boy , and more after the jump .
