Or, if I didn't have a day job we would have already been jamming these jams, so I'm gonna keep things brief. Last Friday, Noisey premiered "We All Rage in Gold," the lead track from Neurosis' forthcoming Honor Found in Decay. It's grungy, dirty, heavy as all hell, and if possible, has me even more stoked for October 30th . Remember that time when the internet was aflame with rumors the Black Keys had a second Blakroc record in the can? [...]

Photo Credit: Andrew St. Clair 21 years after its inception, Lollapalooza is a festival that does most things right. For quite a while, it's been in a very convenient area and has an excellent line-up, even compared with competing fests such as Bonnaroo, Coachella, and Outside Lands. When done right, a great festival includes bands for everyone, and Lollapalooza does this to near perfection. Among the headliners: Jack White and Red Hot Chili Peppers , Justice , Kaskade , Bassnecter and Santigold [...]

While they've been around for over a decade, it's only been in the past few years that JEFF The Brotherhood has gone from a hard-touring act known for their incendiary live shows, to a major label act worthy of some well deserved support from the taste-makers at NPR Music . Made up of brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall, the guitar and drums duo break the mold of what you think you know about two-piece acts, playing a brand of fuzzed out garage rock that's influenced just as much by The Ramones and Weezer as it is by [...]
Stream: Jeff the Brotherhood- Hypnotic Nights Unfamiliar with Jeff the Brotherhood? I have an audio review of the album they dropped last year, We Are the Champions, right here . When I first laid ears on this Nashville duo, their likeness to Weezer floored me-in ways both positive and negative. While I do enjoy Pinkerton and the band's debut, I'm not sure how I feel about such a direct copy of it. Though the Brotherhood does put me on the fence in some respects, I have to admire [...]

Nashville natives JEFF The Brotherhood are back with a summertime single, "Six Pack," from their upcoming album Hypnotic Knights . The LP is due out on July 17, but in the meantime you can check out four new tracks off of their recently released EP of the same name. Produced by The Black Keys ' Dan Auerbach, the Orrall brothers sound catchier than ever while still keeping their signature fuzzed-out sound in tact. Be sure to catch [...]

It's finally arrived. The line up for Lollapalooza, one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S., has been revealed and it's quite good. The Chicago Sun-Times has reported that the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys and Black Sabbath will headline this year's festival. This will also be the only U.S. appearance for Sabbath this year. Additionally, Jack White, Justice and Avicii will also serve as headliners this year. Also appearing at Lolla will be At the Drive-In, Sigur Rós, Florence and the [...]

Up until compiling this list, I was pretty sure 2011 was not a fantastic year for music. Well, I may have been completely wrong. There might not have been giant releases from the most prominent artists of our generation, but this is only because there are no more prominent artists of our generation. The internet and availability of music has made anybody a contender for making a great record, and I believe it has become a complete toss up as to who makes a future classic in any given year. Relax, for this is a good thing. Here's my big [...]
You can never accuse Nashville of holding back on the world. From the Grand Ole Opry, to the birth of country music as we know it today, the capital city is known the world over as a central hub of the burgeoning music world. Picking up various "Ones To Watch" awards across North America, brothers Jake and Jamin Orral are no exception, and their latest piece, We Are The Champions is a veritable melting pot of Americana. The album has overtones of blues, punk (think Ramones, not Sex Pistols) and good ole' rock 'n' roll, with plenty of hooks that [...]
