Rhye - The Fall Not much is known about this soulful LA duo reminiscent of a young Sade that seemed to have appeared out of thin air and release on of my favorite little EP’s of the year .  Like me, you probably fell hard for Rhye after hearing their first single “ Open .”All I can really say is that I wish the EP was more than three songs. I guess I’ll have to wait patiently like everyone else for their upcoming LP which has been rumored to drop in February 2013.

Big Surr - Baked and Bruised I love when beach pop isn’t produced anywhere near a beach. Listening to the lo-fi fuzzy beach pop created by Nashville locals Big Surr you would never know the difference.  A few months back they released this three track EP with the folks over at Beach Tapes . Oren Lyons - Forever Found About two weeks I was introduced via email inbox (see I do read them) to this single from emerging LA based group Oren Lyons. This past January the group was formed by  multi-instrumentalist composer Gueorgui Linev (formerly of Lonely Trees). El Gato La Virgen & El Diablo - Pilletu “Pilletu” is the first single from El Gato La Virgen & El Diablo which translates toThe Cat Lady and The Devil. While the track is great on its own it’s spectacular if you listen to it on the special site he’s created that features the little clips you see above. The Suits - Matriarch Last week my boy Jimmy over at Head Underwater  tweeted me saying “Have you listened to The Suits. I feel like you’d be into them.” For those of you who know Jimmy you know when he makes a suggestion you should probably listen. I pressed play and I’ve been pressing it over and over again since. Wonderhouse - Use Me Up Remember the huge buzz Meg Myers created on the interwebs about three months ago?
