RCA Records has shut down three of its more well-known subsidiary labels, Jive Records, Arista Records, and J Records, as The Hollywood Reporter points out. The news was unveiled in a recent interview between The Holly Reporter  and RCA President Tom Corson, who explained that "the path we've taken is to refresh RCA, so we're going to retire those brands. On Thursday evening, we stopped by Santos Party House to catch Jive Records' showcase for LA-based  R&B/Electro-Funk musician Miguel . Hot 97's DJ Enuff warmed up the crowd at the Ciroc-sponsored affair. This was Miguel's NYC debut, which went well for the fresh young talent.  Backed by drums, bass, keys and electric guitar, his rhythmic slow jams brought together a nice crowd, who weren't the only ones having a good time - the group seemed to enjoy themselves on the stage as well. Bullet for My Valentine 's new album, Fever , is coming on April 27 (the band continue to be on the Jive Records label for this release), and right after this record hits streets the band will be heading out on the road for touring. There's probably a lot of jokes to be made at the expense of the Backstreet Boys and their new video "Bigger," but a certain guilty pleasure side of me still enjoys it.
