Somewhere, in the hullaballoo that was 2009 I completely missed out on Swedish due JJ. But, when you see things like "Swedes who sound like Enya covering Lil Wayne at Lilith Fair 2015" it kinda piques your interest, no? Roommates is the latest project from the prolific Ben Cook (aka Young Governor of the Bitters/Fucked Up/Young Governor fame) and his roommate Mark Fosco of Marvelous Darlings. Who the fuck are the jj? That's what I asked myself while browsing through Pitchfork's Top 50 Albums '09. Their album, jj nº 2, made the cut at number 35. After a little bit of research, I discovered their spectacular song, Ecstasy . This down-tempo and sexy jam samples Lil Wayne 's Lollipop . Feels like a breath of minty-fresh air. Ecstacy - heard this track last night. It feels like classic Trip Hop with that Lil' Wayne hook embeded in my pop psyche. HappyParts enjoys some down tempo sexy. I believe that I have never posted about one of my favorite new bands jj before, so here is my chance to. Made up with members Joakim and Elin, they are based from Sweden. Their material is sort of like a mysterious indie pop infused with a bit of electro (with lots of echos).
