It's been a long while coming, this, as Siriusmo returns on Modeselektor's Monkeytown Records . Frequently seen sporting Mickey Mouse paraphernalia, Berlin techno guru Moritz Friedrich is the big cheese you'd call in to exterminate that deadmau5 vermin once and for all, and Itchy is another full-frontal throb thoroughly worth the scratching. Built about a buoyant, but gloopy undulation there's a Germanic accuracy to it – springy samples evocative of those to power Kraftwerk's Pocket Calculator boing about the place – though bubbling under are three, thirty-three to really put Joel Zimmerman in his lowly place. There's an intelligence [...]

Joel " deadmau5 " Zimmerman announced today on Twitter that he was returning to Ultra Music Festival. "Well, I caved in... There was just too many of you guys asking me to play at ultra this year, so im doin it for you guys! viva la horde." Deadmau52s announcement comes almost a year to since he posted a 12-minute video lashing out at Ultra Music Festival , bemoaning the competition among talent for time slots and stage production, chastizing the event’s organizers for their lack of organization skills and demanding that DJs [...]

How To Destroy Angels ( HTDA ) is a musical band featuring Nine Inch Nails front-man Trent Reznor, his wife Mariqueen Maandig, the ever-present Rob Sheridan, and the enigmatic Atticus Ross. Named after a 1984 Coil single of the same name, Deadmau5 in 2012 remixes HTDA’s ‘Ice Age’ into a slow-stepping crystallised pod of space age inexplicable daydreams and all minus the random nightmares. Instantly-revering. Enormously repeated and constantly playlisted, Brian Kramer fuses the originals / vocals from Goulding & Harris and Howells & Deadmau5 into an duality of [...]

Joel Zimmerman sat down with Bill Werde (the editorial director of Billboard) during the FutureSound conference in San Francisco and had a few choice words about the state of EDM culture. Have a watch. Some of the better things to come out of Joel Zimmerman’s mouth: "The way I see EDM right now, it's a healthy industry for sure. Minimal work for maximum profit, right?" "Burn all electronic music down, I don't care. At the end of the day, scenes don't evolve. Scenes are scenes. They're there and then they're [...]

More delicious than a Spaghetti Bolognese dish sprinkled with cheese, nine (yes, nine) versions of various above-average Deadmau5 mashlegs, bootlegs and mashups drop into our inbox like seashells shimmering on a sandy beach shore. Retelling a simple and up n’ coming roll call featuring - Grand Rapid’s Kiely Rich , Vancouver’s Michael Scott , Detroit’s Adam Berger , Philadelphia’s Tours , New York’s Seraph , Bethlehem’s Kap Slap and New Jersey’s Kastra .. seem to put Deadmau5’s originals in good hands throughout this jackin’ n’ crackin’ list (whether that involves embracing the [...]

New electronic music here from Joel Zimmerman—you know, deadmau5 to all you EDMers. I'm personally not the biggest fan, which is to say that I haven't really dug into the deadmau5 discography like I'm sure the zealots have. So to all the deadmau5 nuts out there please excuse me if I speak ignorantly here, but this tech house inspired outing, to me, sounds like a completely new direction for Zimmerman. And even though it's only a tab over a minute in length, I like what I hear and want more. Wonder if this new sound has anything to do with [...]

The man who now needs no introduction, refuses to rest on his hard-earned laurels after the release of his fourth artist album called > Album Title Goes Here < this past September and stirs up more positive-controversy over four newly marinated beef joints named ‘Suckfest2000,’ ‘Let Me Clear That Up For You,’ ‘Arm1n_3’ and ‘Unfck_Test.’ Dangerously intrusive as always, Deadmau5 releases the strobe light enchantments. > Album Title Goes Here < is out now on Mau5trap Recordings. DEADMAU5 - Suckfest2000 DEADMAU5 - Let Me Clear [...]

Labor Day is always a bittersweet holiday because it signals the unofficial end of summer. Helping to make the transition into fall a little easier for a packed house on Saturday at Tryst Nightclub was Joel " deadmau5 " Zimmerman, an outspoken DJ/producer/"button pusher" who needs no introduction. Taking the decks around 1am, the Canadian played while wearing his trademark mousehead, dropping cuts such as “The Veldt” from his upcoming album, Album Title Goes Here , as well as “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” and “Some Chords.” The gig went off without incident or a [...]

Yesterday while skimming through the Twittersphere I noticed Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5 talking about a new song he was working on. Not too much later he put up a link to that new song, even though it wasn't mastered yet. During my first listen the tune sounded like it was going to be a Sigur Ros track instead, as the intro was quite slow and orchestral, but that quickly changed as the high end synth line bursts in. He then settles into a strong driving beat that eventually smooths out and combines with that [...]

Deadmau5 is on a freakin’ roll at the minute - as this next instalment from the man himself is nothing but pure 44 dancefloor beast of a bomb. Full credit to you Joel! DEADMAU5 – There Might Be Coffee
![DEADMAU5 – Yay Veldt! + VARIOUS : WE ARE FRIENDS LP [Mau5trap Records]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4414150_lg.jpg)
Deadmau5 maintains another short n’ sweet addition to his very colourful resume via an enormously linear & stripped down “Veldt-Step” feel - through this latest preview (or finished track?) of ‘Yay Veldt!’ clocking in @ an analogue 2 minutes and 40 sharp-seconds. The “We Are Friends” compilation on Mau5trap Records is an 8 ball hitting outlook into the boundaries made feasible through the hands of the progressive and the electronic. Making the impossible seem possible on this nine track tale of louder-is-better stars is a roll call from Tom Staar, James Njie, veteran and production superstar Tom Neville, Heat Maxwell, [...]

What has Archie done to himself? With a new lick of production paint and a new jig in his swagger, the Moscow brawler in Archie has turned over a Charlie Sheen winner today. Not bad for a Tuesday me-thinks! The Geek lets us know about his astounding new remix that cavorts into a spell-bounding & quintessential A State Of Trance territory, whilst our resident “Event-Driven Marketing specialist” and “9th Circle In Hell” patriot - Deadmau5, leads directly from the front by a newly visited re-working of ‘Survivalism’ embracing Nine Inch Nails’ slow-flowing darkness perfectly. Los Angeles [...]

With a small coterie of electronic music artists breaking through into the mainstream in the past two years, it's interesting to observe how the media is scrambling to wrap their heads around and capitalize on the gargantuan global fan base of a few select acts. Try as they might, often times their coverage isn't on target. In March, for example, Forbes launched a DJ column about the best DJs in the world. It is written by an expert in "workplace trends and culture shifts." The problem is that some of the DJs interviewed weren't exactly the best [...]
We've finally begun to see the world of EDM transition to the foreground of the music industry, and what better way than a conference to let the people know there's way more to come. The inaugural EDMbiz Conference, sponsored by Insomniac Events, will be held today through June 7th at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. [...]

The latest sounds from Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5 beggars belief. Remaining unaltered and resilient, there is much to life than any or all Madonna gibberish.

We have a brand new unoffical track from our favorite Canadian Joel Zimmerman, better known as Deadmau5. He dropped this track on his SoundCloud under the name Fuckmylife. Kinda random, but we appreciate it. This song has a massive build up that lasts almost 2 minutes. After the prolonged buildup, it drops with a solid funky beat and his usual heavy bass line. This is a pretty sweet track if you give it a chance to build up. If you are a part of generation deficit attention (Compliments to our boy Sol) zoom ahead a couple minutes and enjoy! [...]
Seems like Deadmau5 is hard at work in the studio, and there have been several live streams this month for fans to witness it. Although he claims they are still works in progress, Joel recently just released these two tracks on his soundcloud, which should not be overlooked. After about the two minute intro, 'Closer [...]
He's baaaaack. After a stint producing some arguably...strange tracks, Deadmau5 has returned with 'The Veldt' to show his fans just what he's made of. This is classic Deadmau5, chock full of deep, melodic chords and entrancing repetition. This is the pureness stuff that enticed house music fans to fall in love with the genre. Featuring vocals by Chris James, the single will be available May 6 from Ultra Records, but almost more exciting is the announcement of The Veldt EP which will be released June 25. Deadmau5 had initially created 'The Veldt' during a live [...]
