Jenny (Lewis) and Johnny (Rice) made their national television debut on Conan last night, performing I'm Having Fun Now single "Big Wave" with Lewis on lead vocals for the broadcast and a web-exclusive take on the Rice-led "Scissor Runner." While both renditions stay pretty faithful to their respective studio takes, the most notable bit arrives when the couple share the lead mic for some The Boss/Little Steven-esque harmonies in the outro of "Scissor Runner," which is, of course, adorbs. I was so disappointed with both the music on the last Rilo Kiley album and with Jenny Lewis' sex-kitten cavorting which accompanied the PR effort that I ended up developing a real dislike of the band. This is possibly due to me being a bit of dick I suppose, rather than any fault of the band, but I really didn't like the actual tunes much either so the results would have been much the same I guess. Anyhow this album, recorded by Jenny Lewis and her fella Johnathan Rice, seems to straddle the pop instincts of Rilo Kiley [...]

Lately all the Jenny Lewis news has been about her new project with boyfriend Johnathan Rice, but looks like one of our favorite female voices has been double timing (not in that way, get your mind out of the gutter) with The Killers singer Brandon Flowers. Flowers is about to release his solo album Flamingo and the latest single "Hard Enough" features some well placed, albeit subtle, backup vocals from Lewis. You can preview the single below and look out for Flowers' new album out September 14th.
