MUSIC NEWS - John Mayer debuted the first single, Who Says from his new album Battle Studies (order the full album below) on his website, after informing fans via his Twitter account saying, "From my heart to yours." A switch from this electric blues of The John Mayer Trio (bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan), this song's an acoustic ballad more similar to recent Mayer cuts like Say and [...]

Tomorrow is the Rochester St. Patrick's Day Parade ; we imagine this holds true in a great many places across the nation. Andy's never been a big parade goer, but the allure of drinking heavily is too good for him to pass up. Plus, he hasn't been out in a couple weeks, so this seems like a good time to put the drinking shoes back on. For some reason the two of us never seem to hang out on St. Patrick's Day. In 2003, he won a Best Male Pop Vocal Performance Grammy Award for "Your Body Is a Wonderland." Before any of his success, though, John Mayer was an attendant at a gas station in high school, which enabled him to save up for his first new guitar. [...]

My musical taste recently, very much like my mood, has been ambivalent; half way between the gutter and the stars, skim milk with my double-fudge cookie, a cloudy day in Kauai, John Mayer rock'n on an out-of-tune guitar, etc. You get the point. Speaking of John Mayer. His music really makes sense to me. I've been listening to him for so long that I feel like his style has matured just as all of us 25'ers have. Each time he releases something new, I feel like it's very timely and [...]
