On the latest episode of the world's best music-based TV show, Disclosure visited Jools Holland with Sam Smith in tow to perform their hit track "Latch" . The track is taken from the duo's debut album Settle which came out this week, mostly to favourable reviews, and though I think it's excellent, our reviewer wasn't completely sold, so check out the performance below, and read our review [...]

So far this season we've seen beautiful performances by Laura Mvula and Cat Power , and this week we're being treated to AlunaGeorge and Phoenix . My life feels so much more complete whenever Later With Jools Holland is on TV, and thankfully for my own happiness and well-being, he's back. Tonight he kicked off series 42 of quite possibly, the single best music show on TV, anywhere in the world today. It's been that way for years, and over the years he's had Cat Power on multiple times (it's actually the first place I heard her name and listened to her music). Tonight for the first episode she performed a beautiful [...]

Jessie Ware stopped by Jools Holland this week to perform her hit " Wildest Moments ". The song has been ravaging its way through everyone's ears recently, and Jessie is well deserved of such stardom. Ware's powerhouse of a voice is garnering her undivided attention; her album Devotion is among talks for being one of the best debut albums of the year. You knew this one was coming, the second part to Beach House 's fantastic Jools Holland visit where they played "Myth" at the start of the week. This time they played Record Store Day single "Lazuli" beneath a rosy red glow, stoic as ever, gorgeous as ever. Their new album "Bloom" is out now and is, to put it as eloquently as I can, God damn fucking awesome. [...]
Another episode of Jools Holland where he puts every other music-based television show to shame. This week it's Beach House 's turn to show the world of shitty music how it's done, with a fantastic and rousing performance of "Myth" , the lead single from their current album-of-the-year-contender "Bloom" . With Jools Holland and tease us with two more tracks off their upcoming fifth album "In Our Heads" due for release June 12th via Domino Records , following up 20102s ever-popular "One Life Stand" . We've already had a few tastes of the new LP: we've seen the video [...]
The second part of Later...With Jools Holland this week is here with Django Django 's second song for the recording. During the week we saw them jingle their jangles to "Default" and this time around it's the trembling "WOR" . The band mentioned on Twitter that they had some problems with the sound, and whilst overall it sounded great, the vocals seemed a little tame compared to their power on record. Either way it's still an awesome performance, [...]
In the second installment of this week's Later With Jools Holland , St. Vincent perform two rousing versions of "Strange Mercy" tracks "Cheerleader" and "Northern Lights" . If you didn't think you could swoon over Annie Clark anymore than you already do, wait until you see her lampooning around the stage in high heels and making theramins look like more fun than they actually are. Connect with St. Vincent - [...]
Last week we were treated to an impressive lineup on Jools Holland with Alabama Shakes , Jack White , and Grimes , and this week's episode was just as good. St. Vincent played "Cruel" from her latest album "Strange Mercy" , Damon Albarn dropped "Apple Carts" from his "Dr Dee" [...]
The other night when Jools Holland aired with Alabama Shakes , Jack White , and Grimes , they played a few cuts from their respective albums and now the rest of their sets have made their way online. Jack White did "Blunderbuss" track "Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy" , The White Stripes classic (and my personal favourite song of theirs) "Ball And Biscuit" , and a little interview with [...]
Jack White played two songs from solo album Blunderbuss on Jools Holland last night.

Tweet Confession time. I have a "moderate" obsession with Later...with Jools Holland. Every time it's on I find myself giddy with the enthusiasm of a 14 year old girl watching The Beatles for the first time on Ed Sullivan. In my defense, it's probably the best musical showcase show of the last 25 years. The format is unique, the bands (mostly) always sound good, and it's a great source of finding new music. Even still, sometimes I get more than I bargain for. Back in November [...]

Last month Ryan Adams stopped by Jools Holland here in the UK to run through a few tracks from his much-heralded return to form Ashes & Fire . As on the album the highlight from this live session was the beautifully stripped back Lucky Now , a solid gold nugget of acoustic pop reminiscent of, well, Gold . It's an absolutely beautiful take. Watch and download it below. Ryan Adams - Lucky Now (Live on Jools Holland) [...]
