After mulling over posting her exciting live performance from Jools Holland (which you can view above), this new Joy Orbison remix of "Video Games" was finally enough for me get a post up about LA-based songstress Lana Del Rey, who recently signed with Interscope Records. I've been adoring her single for the past few weeks and after hearing it on the radio last week while driving in the rain, the beauty of the song's delicate piano melody finally hit me with its full impact. Luckily, Joy Orbison has a knack for making pretty much anything funky, and that he certainly [...]

Yesterday we posted up a few performances from Later... with Jools Holland but this one took a little longer to surface for some reason. Whilst sat at home watching I remember thinking this was a stand-out performance from the show and it was from Ghostpoet . He stepped into the studio to perform a great rendition of "Survive It" from his Mercury Prize nominated album Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam . Check it out above.

When December rolls around, I know there's one album I'll be making sure lands on our best albums of the year list: Ghostpoet's Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam . The British rapper-producer crafted what is easily one of the most creative and intriguing listens I've heard in the past few years, never mind 2011. It's also a quintessential winter album, which just might make it gain some more momentum as the temperatures start dropping. Ghostpoet proved why we dig his work so much last night with a performance of " Survive It " on [...]
As we previously saw with Lana Del Rey last night's Jools Holland had some nice performances within it and another one that made it worth switching over for was The Horrors who dropped by to perform their new single "I Can See Through You". You know, the single that we yesterday saw the trippy video for. Check out the bands pretty solid performance above. Their album Skying is out now.

Lana Del Rey has definitely stolen the nickname Lippy from that broad on Windsor Avenue growing up. Her lips are either God's gift or a surgeon's error that has worked in her favor. Del Rey performed on Later with Jools Holland last night. She's been being talked about all over the internet and the song "Video Games" has grown on me. Definitely another artist to add to the Adele and Florence + The Machine genre. You'll be hearing more from her. I guarentee it.
Hey, something else to fight about! Lana Del Rey, the internet's most divisive artist, showed up on the last episode of the British show Later With Jools Holland to sing " Video Games ." With a pianist and a string section backing her up, LDR actually looked nervous in public for the first time since she stopped being Lizzy Grant. Watch it below. Read More...
Last night as I sat on my sofa contemplating my day I switched over to BBC 2 for Later... with Jools Holland . Sometimes it can be a bit hit and miss with the guests but this week had me intrigued as the latest internet phenomenon Lana Del Rey was to be performing. She stood almost motionless accompanied by a lone piano player. Swaying slowly as she performed a humble rendition of "Video Games" it was hard to take your eyes off her. Whether it be because you were wondering how much work she'd had done to [...]
Lana Del Rey makes her TV debut as she performs "Video Games" live on Later Live... with Jools Holland on October 11, 2011. deepgoa.blogspot.com underground music guide _________ © dg , 2011
A very nervous-looking Lana Del Rey makes her television debut on Jools Holland's famed British talk show. The polarizing new talent performed her recently released single "Video Games" a day after uploading a live clip of the single's b-side (and our preferred), "Blue Jeans" onto her widely popular YouTube channel. Watch the performance below. And one good performance deserves another. After Lana Del Rey 's killer cut of "Blue Jeans" from the Premises , the artist formerly known as Lizzy Grant made her TV debut on the October 11th edition of Later... with Jools Holland . Tackling "Video Games", the songbird is the star of a haunting and mesmerizing musical event. Stripped to its most raw and essential, the song is profoundly stirring, allowing Del Rey to shine as the vulnerable vixen caught in the sea of topsy turvy love affair. Check it out below (via Pitchfork ). [...]

Video: Video Games (Live on Jools Holland) - Lana Del Rey A cantora americana fez sua estréia em TV no programa britânico Later Live… with Jools Holland , tocando o single Video Games . É só o começo para essa bonita e talentosa garota. (via OneThirtyBPM )
So divisive . Still probably a top 5 song of 2k11.
There's a bit of a jarring effect to Lizzy Grant's voice in this performance but for many (judging by the trending on Twitter at least) it'll be a perfect introduction with just the right amount of intensity and filmic fragility. Previously .
My favourite Liverpudlian musician of late also stepped into the Jools Holland studio to put in a to be expected stellar performance of his incredibly catchy single. I'm talking about Miles Kane and his track "Inhaler" which featured on his album Colour Of The Trap . Check out the performance at the top and get your dance on. Maybe not so vigorously if you're asthmatic though eh?!
On Tuesday evening the rapscallions that are Kasabian took to the Later...with Jools Holland studio to perform not one, but two tracks from their latest album, Velociraptor! . They player their recent single "Days Are Forgotten" before also doing a great rendition of the albums title track for the studio audience and viewers at home. I've said it before but I'll say it again, "Velociraptor" is going to be a huge festival song. ON the album with the processed drums it seems maybe a little lacking but live it comes into it's [...]
