Last night the second part of the Later... with Jools Holland was broadcast on BBC and for our viewing pleasure we got to see more performances from Jack White , Alabama Shakes and Norah Jones . First up for you to enjoy is a man that needs no introduction. We already saw him perform "Sixteen Saltines" and "Freedom at 21" earlier in the week and last night adding to those Jack performed "Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy" and The White Stripes track "Ball and a Biscuit". I only just noticed this [...]

Later... With Jools Holland returned this week with a sterling line-up consisting of Jack White, Alabama Shakes and Norah Jones, to name a few. Here are a couple of their performances! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =GswJc875Tik http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =SZ-BKq1jc-w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =S1XD_2ogQP0

Lots of Jack White news this AM. According to Variety , Jack White will be scoring the Johnny Depp remake of "the Lone Ranger" that is currently/was shot here in Colorado and New Mexico. Look for the film to hit theaters May 2013. Don't be surprised to see White's mug on the big screen like he did in " Cold Mountain ." Jack White is on the trail supporting his solo album, "Blunderbuss," that was released this week and performed on UK's Jools Holland and will be coming to [...]
Last night's Later... with Jools Holland was one for the books. We've already seen Jack White , Alabama Shakes and Grimes perform track on the twice weekly broadcast show for BBC. Finally for your viewing pleasure is the delightful Norah Jones , who dropped by to perform her track "Happy Pills" which feature on her newly released Danger Mouse produced LP, ... Little Broken Hearts . Enjoy the footage at the top. What a night. I personally can't wait for Friday's broadcast for some more musical magic to take place.

Later with Jools Holland had a great lineup for the show this past evening with performances by Jack White , Grimes , and Alabama Shakes . You can watch all three perform cuts from their new albums below.
Rounding out the show on BBC last night, Later... with Jool Holland, featured a pair of performances from Alabama Shakes . With the band's debut hitting number 3 in the UK album chart and taking the top spot in the first ever Record Store Chart , Alabama Shakes performed their single "Hold On" and album track "Be Mine". The former is up for enjoyment at the top while "Be Mine" is available after the jump. These guys hit the mark every time. Boys & Girls is out now.
When something has been missing from your life for a while you can have a tendency to over indulge once it returns to your life. I do not think this is possible with Jack White . After releasing his brilliant solo debut Blunderbuss this week he took to the stage of Later... with Jools Holland with his new blue aesthetic in tow for two rousing renditions of tracks. First up was "Sixteen Saltines" (viewable at the top), the infectious single before later in the show a spine tingling performance of "Freedom at 21" (available after the jump) went down. [...]
Last night the Canadian sensation that is Grimes made their UK TV debut with a performance on what was quite frankly the best way to spend your Tuesday evening, on Later... with Jools Holland. Claire Boucher performed beautifully and the performance can be enjoyed up at the top. Phew. More to come at the weekend once the full show airs on Friday. Visions is out now.

Jack White released Blunderbuss yesterday and if you didn't already, get out there and pick it up. It's less twangy than my initial expectations with "Love, Interruption", which is a good thing. It has its great moments and both tracks he performed on Later...with Jools Holland qualify in that category. Check out his performances of "Sixteen Saltines" and what I have to assume will be the follow-up single, "Freedom at 213. That's the track he released a couple of weeks back on a flexi-vinyl via helium balloons. Regardless of the gimmicks, Jack is a legend.
Grimes did herself a great service in the great buzzband of 2012 stakes with this performance. It could have very easily fallen flat on its arse (a la LDR) and made anyone who has been championing her feel like a complete tit to the larger outside world watching her for the first time but you can hold your head high today internet. Not even the all-seeing eye hippy shit can ruin this one. Alabama Shakes were pretty good too even though I get the feeling 'Hold On' is the only tune I'll [...]

The eccentric Grimes stopped by Jools Holland earlier today to perform "Genesis," off the recently released Visions . This time she came with blonde hair and an extra eye on her forehead, but she handled business as usual and pulled off another great performance. Watch it below. Jools Holland 's show kicked off tonight with a bumper line-up of artists who've released some of the best albums of the year so far. Jack White played a couple of tracks from his excellent debut solo album "Blunderbuss" , Alabama Shakes played from their equally-as fantastic debut LP "Boys & Girls" , and Canadian experimental indie-electronic artist Grimes played from her stunning album "Visions" . [...]

Some things just need to be shared and such is the case with this captivating clip from rising upstart and probably the coolest guy on the planet Willis Earl Beal . Watch as he gives one of the best heartfelt performances seen in quite a while. 'Evening's Kiss' is on his debut project ' Acousmatic Sorcery ' which is available now.

This week The Maccabees were one of the many acts featured on Jools Holland. Performing, Pelican , Feel To Follow and Went Away it was a showing of absolute epic proportions. With the group joined by it's third White brother, Will, the songs have a fuller sound that previous live performances, showcasing the album's two previous singles and one likely future release. All of this of course in promotion of their breathtaking third album, Given To The Wild , which was released earlier this year.
Towards the end of the review for Willis Earl Beal's Acousmatic Sorcery , I floated a question about XL's plans for their newly signed Willis Earl Beal. If this take from Later...with Jools Holland is any indication, those concerns were misguided. The Scotch taped production that pocked the album version is upgraded for sinister pianos and suddenly the formerly reclusive and transient Beal appears right at home in the spotlight.
Last night Later... with Jools Holland returned to the TV sets of many a British household, well, those wanting to enjoy some talented musicians before heading to bed. On the show Willis Earl Beal appeared and put in a performance of his Acousmatic Sorcery featuring track, "Swing On Low". A fine performance it was too. Next week the show is set to have appearances from Grimes, Jack White, Norah Jones and Alabama Shakes. We'll have you covered for a catch up next week and some more performances from the full broadcast which airs this [...]
