A hidden gem lies within Grouplove, the latest LA band worth discovering. Like Black Kids and Local Natives before them, Grouplove emerged as the next big band from Los Angeles. Living in Southern California I'm frequently exposed to numerous new, exciting bands like indie rock band Grouplove. Ever since I first heard their single "Colours" off their self-titled EP Grouplove last year I instantly fell in love with them. Released by Canvasback Music and Atlantic Records last January, I knew it would be a matter of time before they debut their first album. Grouplove stands as my favorite [...]

The annual Sasquatch festival, definitely a festival that I need to attend in the very near future, announced a killer line up for this year's installment. Recently solo Jack White, along with Beck and Bon Iver, will be headlining the George, WA based three-day event. Also leading the way are Pretty Lights, Tenacious D, The Shins, Girl Talk, St. Vincent, Feist, and Silversun Pickups. But that's not all who you'll get to see at the Gorge Ampitheatre this year. Also performing this year are Metric, Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky, The Head [...]

Don't have the Joy Formidable 's album 'The Big Roar' yet? It was released a year ago so you don't have much excuse for not having it. However, if for some reason you've missed this great band (though I'm not really sure how this is possible, after Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters proclaimed his love for them and took them out on tour in America), you can listen to and download album track 'A Heavy Abacus' below. And we were remiss for not posting the song's official video, [...]

Unfortunately, what was supposed to be HBO's Entourage replacement only lasted two seasons. The dropping of the axe on How To Make It In America didn't come as a surprise to most, as the TV program was mainly famous for starring Kid Cudi. But while the show, which followed two friends (Ben Epstein and Cam Calderon) trying to succeed in New York's competitive fashion scene, was far from perfect, its soundtrack was quite impressive. Today's playlist comprises dance, hip hop, electronic, and indie rock – our way of bidding adieu to the [...]

Big Hassle Both Wales' The Joy Formidable and New York's A Place To Bury Strangers know a thing or two about the merits of turning one's amplifiers up as far as they'll go, destroying their instruments, and making their audience wish that it were possible to wear more than one pair of earplugs at a time. So with the announcement yesterday that the two acts were teaming up for a trans-Atlantic summit on (inflicting) hearing loss, those who like it loud responded with excitement. And fear. A Place [...]
