Knicks 88, Celtics 80 Follow @TheNosebleeds The Knicks had every advantage in this series. They were younger, quicker, and healthier than the Celtics, but Kevin Garnett and company would not allow them to advance without a fight. While the C's didn't make history by coming back from a 3-0 series deficit, they made the Knicks sweat right down to the wire in Game 6. N ever underestimate the heart of a champion. It's a sports cliche that gets thrown around way too often, but [...]

Celtics 92, Knicks 86 Follow @TheNosebleeds As long they're still standing, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are a force to be reckoned with in the NBA playoffs. J.R. Smith and the Knicks tried to dismiss the Celtics' chances before Game 5 even began, but as the results have shown, it's best to keep those comments to yourself. J .R. Smith is going to have to wait even longer to work on his golf game. The Knicks streaky shooter shot his mouth off on Tuesday [...]

Knicks 87, Celtics 71 Follow @TheNosebleeds Once again the Celtics played outstanding in the first half against the Knicks, only to completely collapse down the stretch. They've lost the first two games of this series in demoralizing fashion, but don't write their obituary quite yet. T he Celtics are battle-tested. They're hungry, they're tough, they get inside the opponent's skin in an effort to get them off their game. That's been their calling card since Kevin Garnett arrived in Boston six years ago, and [...]
Raise your hand if you actually thought the Knicks would look better during the final month of the season than during that torrid early-season run. *Not a single hand raises* [...]

Knicks 108, Celtics 89 F or the second time this week, the Celtics (38-35) were unable to compete with a team that now owns the longest streak in the NBA. The Knicks (46-26) won their eighth straight on Sunday night as they steamrolled through a porous C's defense. Boston played well enough on the offensive end, but Without Kevin Garnett in the lineup, they were simply unable to contain one of the top scoring teams in the league. The Celts uptempo approach was successful against an inconsistent [...]
J.R. Smith is many different things. Unfortunately for him and the New York Knicks, clutch wasn't one of them Thursday night. Filling in for Carmelo Anthony and looking every bit [...] The post Oklahoma City Thunder Top J.R. Smith, Knicks 95-94 appeared first on The Smoking Section .
So this chick hits up J.R. Smith, and he eloquently tries to set up some ass for after the game..... Pretty funny...until it was revealed the girl is a 16 year old high school student.

Knicks 89, Celtics 86 G one are the days when Paul Pierce could dribble to his proverbial sweet spot and can game-winners whenever the Celtics needed him. When the Celtics defeated the Lakers 112-107 in a regular season game during the 2000-01 season, Shaquille O'neal took a Boston reporter aside and offered a response to Pierce's epic performance (42 points on 13-19 shooting). One of the most dominant players in NBA history shook his head in disbelief and told the Boston Herald , "Paul Pierce is the [very long [...]

The San Antonio Spurs may be virtually unbeatable but J.R. Smith still has their number when it comes to posterizing the defenders. Last time, it was Gary Neal who was victim to an aerial attack. Now, Timmy D. gets frozen in his stance as J.R. simply spins past him-in the air. The level of concentration and cognitive skill it takes to pull something like this off is pretty uncanny. In other words, that boy good. Via Meet Tha Dealer On a [...]
It has to kind of suck to be Gary Neal this morning. I'm sure many people really didn't even know his name before last night when J.R. Smith flew across the paint like a man possessed dunking all over him with both hands effortlessly all while rocking his brand new retro Cool Grey XI's !! Adding insult to injury Neals feeble attempt at taking a charge failed and Smith was awarded a free throw to add an extra point to his monster dunk. (Dunks like that should automatically count as 3 ). Many [...]
Gary Neal's name sounds unassuming, one that doesn't fit an NBA player at least. Seems more like a moniker for an accountant or car wash manager. Perhaps I don't catch enough Spurs games but the only time I've even seen Neal is when he ends up on a YouTube clip or Sports Center and they're never sparkling highlights, such as this imaginary handshakes & pounds clip he gives after making a free throw. In fact, that particular clip alone leads me to believe the guy is out of his gourd or out of place amongst [...]

I didn't watch very much basketball this week. I was in full disgruntled mode after Syracuse took the L (again) versus Louisville last weekend and the Orange turned around to lose against arch rival Georgetown in the Big East tournament. After those two losses, I didn't care if the word "basketball" was eliminated from the English language. I'm not even worried about my bracket. I'm pissed my favorite squad's momentum is headed in the wrong direction @ the most inopportune time of year and their starting center is looking hobbled . [...]
Fresh out of Coach Karl's doghouse , J.R. Smith is wasting no time making his presence felt on the court and attempting to be a positive member of the team. Omri Casspi probably wishes Smith had been suspended, at least for last night's game, after being on the receiving end of this dunk.
It's pretty simple. If Denver wins tonight, the series is theirs. If L.A. wins tonight the series is (more than likely) theirs. Nuggets coach George Karl knows & relayed this to his team. "My focus to our players is that this is our must-win game, almost as much as Game 4 was," Denver coach George Karl said the day after his team had an impressive, 120-101 beatdown of Los Angeles. "You want to win there in Game 5 because history is against you in Game 7 . - George Karl [...]
