Early into last night's VMA 's (the only post this year you'll get from it), Kanye and new dad Jay-Z brought out "Otis" to a massive stage entrance, putting a lot on the performance aspect side of the show to literal shame. Don't worry about anything else that might have happened last night. Kanye West & Jay-Z - Otis (Live at the VMA's) Get More: 2011 VMA , Music , JAY Z and Kanye West

Did yall watch the 2011 VMAs? It is actually a relatively successful mainstream awards show because they are looking to facilitate and proliferate as many memes as possible. This year, they allowed Lady Gaga 2 dress up like a man, and basically let her roll around in her own feces on stage 'trying to be deep', just because they knew that would help them 'win' twitter. Tons of pretty standard mainstream memes happened. Did u watch? Are the VMAs 'too mainstream'? Did they 'take over' ur social media feed? Who [...]

It's official: Jay-Z is a daddy-to-be. The larger-than-life rapper couldn't have appeared more thrilled about the news, which wife Beyonce broke with a one-two punch of baby-bump Video Music Award stunts — one on the red carpet (who was best dressed at the VMAs , anyway?), and one onstage after her dazzling performance of "Love On Top". Watch Jay-Z's adorable reaction to Beyonce's big moment, read telling lyrics on how Hova feels about fatherhood, and learn more about his night at the 2011 MTV VMAs below. So what kind [...]
It says something about the age we're living in that you don't even need a television to stay caught up with MTV these days, so following along with this year's VMA's required little more than a Twit

Katy Perry - Wireimage The girls ruled the roost at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards last night (August 28) with Adele , Katy Perry , and Lady Gaga taking home multiple awards. Katy Perry, who went into the show with a leading 10 nominations, took home three moon men, including Best Collaboration with Kanye West for "E.T," Best Visual Effects for "E.T," and the coveted Video of the Year for "Firework." Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" won the pop sensation two awards: Best Video with [...]
Get More: 2011 VMA , Music , JAY Z and Kanye West Besides Tyler the Creator winning best new artist, Jay Z and Kanye's performance was by far my favorite part of the 2011 VMAs. In my opinion, this years VMAs trumped the shows of the past few years. From Lady Gaga's dramatic performance to Beyonce pregnancy announcement, the VMAs were full of surprises.

The 2011 VMAs go down on MTV this Sunday night at 9/8C, and there's a lot to look forward to. Lil Wayne, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Adele, and Chris Brown are all confirmed to perform, plus there are tributes planned for both Amy Winehouse and Britney Spears. Now, E! reports that Jay-Z and Kanye West (aka The Throne) have been added to the fold; the star-studded collaobration will deliver a surprise perform in support of their recently released joint LP Watch the Throne . Barring the end [...]

Some call it the "Oscars for youth," but realistically, the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) feel more like crack for gossipers. Controversy! Chaos! Glam! Anything can happen. It used to be waiting anxiously for Madonna's next "big move," whether it was her flashing some ass or offering some tongue. (Gross? Hardly.) Nowadays, it's more about who's going to screw up, what will be the grand upset, and, admittedly, who's going to be the next "Kanye." Keywords, people: sex and drama. But that's always been the case with the VMAs. Wait, you don't actually think it's a special award? [...]

It has been announced that Beyonce has decided (or her record label, or collectively) that the next single after "Run The World (Girls)" and "Best Thing I Never Had" from 4 will be the Andre 3000 featuring "Party." This is definitely not one of the strongest tracks on the album. We wanted "I Care" or, of course, "End Of Time," which would have propelled the album sales to new heights. The track's not so bad, but there are other great moments of there. Related articles [...]
“2. Lift Off (ft. Beyonce) - I almost aint wanna even comment on this shit son…. I dont even kno what to say bout it yo. This shit sounds like the anthem the fairies in Ferngully would use to go to war against evil humans to or some shit b. This shit is like Shia LeBeouf in song form yo. Lissenin to this shit is like havin ya ears penetrated by a million microscopic dicks namsayin. Shit sounds like niggas doin aerobics on a magical cloud of daisies. How many meadows did Kanye cartwheel across before he decided to make [...]

Beyonce fans, we have lift off. As if a store created solely to sell a collaborative album between two of the world's hottest hip hop entertainers for a limited time only wasn't enough to get fans lining up, a special appearance by Queen Bey herself probably sent them over the edge. That's right — Beyonce dropped by the Watch The Throne pop-up store in Soho last night to join the "Otis" rappers in celebration of their royal achievement. Check out the intimate diva's fit-for-a-queen arrival below. [...]

All eyes in the pop world turned towards Christina Aguilera and Maroon 5 this week as the video for their long-awaited duet "Moves Like Jagger" finally hit the internet. Other hot stories included rumors of an Amy Winehouse biopic starring Lady Gaga, a first listen of Beyonce's collaboration with The Throne (that would be "Lift Off" ), and new music from budding Australian pop diva Elen Levon . Head below to see what our passionate, witty and sometimes downright ruthless readers had to say about these poptastic stories. [...]
It might seem premature to ask, but you cannot front like you weren't up at midnight this past Sunday/Monday waiting on the release of Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch The Throne . Hell, if that wasn't the case, then you can't front like you weren't looking all over the web Monday morning for a link. It's OK, we won't judge. And we won't act like y'all probably haven't heard the album at least five times by now. As such, we felt it was necessary to ask our Facebook fans [...]
If you're one of those people who doesn't know about Watch the Throne , I'd also like to catch you up on anything else you might have missed: The Earth revolves around the sun, washing your hands can help reduce the spread of bacteria, and the Union won the Civil War. Yes, after a long history of successful collaborations , Kanye West and Jay-Z formed the supergroup The Throne , tapped the likes of Frank Ocean and Beyoncé to collaborate, and recorded a 12-track effort that, upon its release this past Monday, whipped [...]
![[Album Review/Listen] – Jay-Z & Kanye West – “Watch The Throne” Track By Track](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3642862_lg.jpg)
Tweet I feel I should preface this review by admitting that I've been a Kanye West fan ever since I heard "Jesus Walks", and while I don't admire Jay-Z 's musical prowess quite as much as that of his protege, I have mad respect for him as a rap legend. Both of them brought their A-game to the table this time around, making "Watch The Throne" absolute fire . That's hip-hop for "really good stuff". Hova and Yeezy are the sole proprietors of feel-good gangster [...]
Sparring with hip-hop captains Jay-Z and Kanye West on their first full-length collaboration.

With combined worldwide album sales exceeding 75 million, several dozen entries in the Billboard Top 100, and the ability to sell out shows in every country across the globe; there's no doubting the success of Jay-Z and Kanye West . Having both well and truly cemented their names amongst the hip-hop greats, the announcement of a collaboration record was met with sheer adulation. Whilst Jay-Z's most recent attempt The Blueprint III was somewhat underwhelming and out of keeping with his discerning high standards, the same cannot be said of [...]
