Yesterday, we brought you our first 50 picks of the year's best songs . And today, we're wrapping up perhaps the most difficult list we have had to create. There are have been so many great singles, non-album tracks, loosies, leftovers, etc... in the past 12 months. But still, we dug through our posts and iTunes libraries to compile what we believe are the best tracks to drop this year. You will find plenty of Potholes favorites—from Kendrick Lamar to TNGHT to BADBADNOTGOOD —populating our choices along with a few artists that might surprise you. [...]

Another Monday and to commemorate the crushing mundanity the day embodies with a most despairing inherence, we're back here divulging a further ten tracks from our 2012 ranking. Our previous instalment took in a Fuck Button, the irrefutably inimitable Bobby Womack, and a lo-res JPG of a cat in a box . This one, meanwhile, clicks through a smattering of woebegone London lo-fi, a couple snared from the Captured Tracks roster, the inevitable Hot Chip entry, and something ever so slightly special from Sam Willis who was once, all in all, just another [...]
At the end of summer, Dyl’s come back from the YACHT show; he keeps checking himself saying he knows it’s crazy but he felt so sure that everything they were saying was in line with the Illuminati shit his corners of the internet talk about.

This week for videos just fucking absolutely ruled , so before we get into what made this list, let's take a moment for all the videos that missed the cut. Among the casualties: Two eye-grabbing clips for A-list indie anthems, a mind-warping and visually sumptuous CocoRosie clip , a great bare-bones performance video , a legitimately funny minute-long sketch , a fun-to-watch fantasy/empowerment thing , a typically-engrossing ASAP Rocky video , a visually gorgeous and kinda-racist treatment of a massive pop-star duet, and a Willie Nelson video [...]

Last week, we skipped this list so that we could run our list of the 25 best videos of the year thus far . So I'll just take a moment to point out that last week's list, if we'd done it, definitely would've included SoKo's " We Might Be Dead By Tomorrow and" Blood Orange's " I'm Sorry We Lied ." Those videos rule. And here are this week's picks. Read More...

"A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men." -Willy Wonka Andrew Bird – “Eyeoneye” This felt version of Andrew Bird has a hell of a lot going on inside of him. Not only are there tiny little men working on machines in his chest, but also vibrant stars and planets swirling around inside his head. Chromatics – “These Streets Will Never Look the Same” I dare you not to immediately put on Drive after checking out this latest video from [...]

download all the pretty songs in a zip file: A.M. 180: top 30 tracks of 2008 get them while they're hot (or, you know, before they get deleted) **** 30 Jeremy Jay - “Beautiful Rebel” And so my list begins with a sigh. “Beautiful Rebel” is ghostly and reverent, and I love how important the actual words sound, like an incantation, or a [...]

Like every other music site from here to Tucson Arizona, I will attempt, feebly at best, to keep you interested with my best of the best list.. TOP Records of the Year: 18. Soft Circle - Full Bloom : Somewhere between African dance and electronica, member(s?) of Black Dice make up this weirdly rhythmic music. It's one that grows on you. Soft Circle - Stones and Trees 17. Shellac - Excellent Italian Greyhound . [...]

1. LCD Soundsystem Sound of Silver It's not that Sound of Silver is the best album of the year musically speaking, but lyrically it's what touched me most in 2007. Don't get me wrong, the churning, building piano on "All My Friends" and the progressive girth of "Get Innocuous" are just two examples of James Murphy's brilliance, but I look at the lyrics on the album as his true triumph. My initial attraction came from that of "All My Friends," a song that shouldn't necessarily speak to me given [...]
