I'm currently hating on the opposite sex but this song is filling my heart with butterflies. It reminds me of the early 20002s, when r/b and hip-hop were in sweet harmony with one another and Ja Rule wasn't in prison. It was a magical time and this a magical track. Ryan McDermott is the newest member of he G.O.O.D. Music/Island Def Jam family, so expect big things from him in the coming months. posted by @clarkbs

Ryan McDermott is making good on his signing to Kanye's label with a new track, "JOY." His first new material since releasing his debut single, "Paradise," back in October, "JOY" is the kind of high-caliber work you would expect from an R&B artist on G.O.O.D Music . Produced by and featuring a verse from labelmate Hit-Boy , the track matches McDermott's smooth vocals with some polished electronic beats marked by tropical undertones. Download both "JOY" and "Paradise" below. MP3: Ryan McDermott - "JOY (Ft. Hit-Boy)" [...]
We know how soul-crushing it is when a blog post or a Very Important Email magically erases itself before we managed to hit "save," so we can't even imagine how musicians must feel when a song vanishes into the ether. That's what happened to Nas , Frank Ocean and Hit-Boy last year, when the rumored Life is Good track "No Such Thing as White Jesus" was lost in the digital shuffle. But now the track has turned up! [...]
Killing time and flipping through Hip-Hop Wired's "The 25 Best Producers In Hip-Hop Right Now" started an internal debate we decided to carry over for a larger discussion. Which producer [...] The post QoTD: Which Producer Had The Best Year In Rap? appeared first on The Smoking Section .

On the heels of the release of his debut rap solo project, the well-received mixtape HITstory , Hit-Boy continues to map out his smooth trek from smash-making producer to respectable emcee on this latest offering, a freestyle over Slum Village's highest charting single, 20042s Aretha-sampling "Selfish" . Considering all the Yeezy comparisons that have met Hit-Boy in the wake of his turn to the mic, attaching himself to a track Kanye memorably produced and rhymed on might not seem like the smartest distinguishing move, but a [...]

Big Sean is on total fire these days and I for one am a complete fan. He has managed to come from the bottom ranks of the music business to the top in what has surely not been the smoothest of rides. Signed to Kanye 's GOOD Music label in 2007, and then Def Jam Recordings in 2008 [1] Sean is a product of the "New" music industry, and a highly adaptive business model that has seen him release mixtapes and singles strenuously, but consistently over the passed few years. His signature flows [...]

G.O.O.D. Music's "Clique", the future Cruel Summer song that generated tons of excited "Kanye talks about Kim's sex tape" blogosphere headlines in its previously leaked Kanye-verse-only snippet form, has now arrived in full, and similar to damn near everything else that has dropped from this crew ever, it's a helluva musical event. Anchored by Hit-Boy 's fittingly epic (and destined to be endlessly freestyle'd over) production, the big, bad and bold "Clique" kicks off with Big Sean -both continuing his Most Improved ride following yesterday's mixtape dope Detroit and strengthening his worth [...]

September 18 can't come soon enough. With four singles already released, including the latest "Clique", I'm am extremely excited for the new G.O.O.D. collaborative album, Cruel Summer .Clique is a Hit Boy production and features verses from Big Sean , Jay-Z , and Kanye . The introduction includes a sample of James Fauntleroy , a member of Cocaine 80s , and a high pitched "hey" sample from James Brown . Yeezy throws down a sick verse on this one with Hov not too far behind. When you look at [...]

Listen to the latest single from Kanye West’s highly anticipated Cruel Summer compilation. The track features Kanye, Jay-Z + Big Sean & was produced by Hit-Boy
The last time Kanye West and Jay-Z hopped on a Hit-Boy instrumental they created an enormous chart-topper in "N**as In Paris." With the third single from the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music album, Cruel Summer , they link up for yet another massive hit that easily matches the quality of the two previous singles, "No Mercy" and "New God Flow." Hit-Boy delivers a surrounding, captivating stadium instrumental and Big Sean , Yeezy and Hov all go to work bringing a level of confidence and luxuriousness that is unmatched. "Clique" marks the third [...]

We've had a bit of a cruel summer waiting for the G.O.O.D. Music crew to finish up their ultra-hyped collaboration. Today, we get a brand new glimpse of the album with the second single to Cruel Summer , due out, ironically, this fall (September 16th to be exact). Kanye West teams up with Big Sean and Jay-Z to jump on some banging Hit Boy production, giving us yet another posse cut from the talented crew. If you enjoyed [...]
Yesterday, a snippet of Kanye's new one, "Clique," emerged, a preview that presented a track buoyed by a compelling, maximal Hit-Boy beat. Now the whole thing has showed up. When the track turns to Kanye, he doesn't waste time, dropping a humdinger of a line that people surely will be talking about; "My girl a super star / All from a home movie." Hey! And yeah, Jay-Z gets loose, too. Hear it below. Read More...
Kanye West and Jay-Z join Big Sean (in respectable form here, if you ignore that unwarranted B.I.G. reference) on GOOD Music's latest jam concerning itself with brotherly camaraderie and A-lister affiliations. "Clique" features another killer superstar beat from "Niggas In Paris" producer Hit-Boy . This one's from Cruel Summer , due out September 18 according to Def Jam. Listen to other tracks from Cruel Summer: “New God [...]

Unfortunately, Cruel Summer did not drop earlier in the summer but it will be here on September 18 . We have a new song from the anticipated project. The Hit-Boy -produced "Clique" which is studded with Big Sean, Kanye West and Jay-Z is here in full. We are intrigued by the beat; the way the beat goes from minimal to maximal, especially that minimal bit. The chemistry of Hit-Boy and G.O.O.D. Music is a match, a match made in heaven. Listen to the bravado-soaked single below...

You already heard the controversial snippet , which I took the liberty of expressing my feelings about. But now here is the full audio of the highly anticipated new single, "Clique". With Kanye West, Jay-Z and Big Sean on board, this piece is going to hit a pretty large demographic. Of course, Big Sean doesn't quite deserve to be included on a song with those two heavyweights, but what can we do? Complain, that is what. Because him repeating "clique" over and over is the last thing I want to hear. The beat is fire, though, thanks to Hit-Boy. [...]
