ALTHOUGH only released in 2006 but recorded almost a decade before, Darc Mind's long-awaited, almost forgotten album was still a breath of fresh air. Originally recorded between 1995 and 1997 for Loud Records, the New York label went bust and Symptomatic Of A Greater Ill never saw the light of day recently, when Anticon unearthed it and put it out to a muted response. But the Darc Mind duo of rapper Kevroc and producer X-Ray are two treasures that had to be found. Kevroc's rap style is a laid back one, but with metronome-sharp timing, instrumental old-school [...]

Last week, Kanye West embarrassed himself by bouncing his head against a traffic sign while being filmed. Kanye has many talents and qualities, but something he doesn't own, is a self-deprecating sense of humor. Kanye doesn't like to see himself humiliated. Now he strikes back; his beloved head which he bounced before against the traffic sign, now appeared projected at 66 buildings across the world. It was the video for his most recent track New Slaves and is a emotionally heavy, deadly serious track. Substantively I can’t say too much about New [...]

88-Keys ft. Kanye West - Stay Up ‘Stay Up’ was the first single from 88-Keys’ debut solo release, The Death of Adam . Even though the track is form 2008, this is one song that Yeezy features on that many of his self-proclaimed fans never seem to know about.

A few days ago when Jay-Z dropped Open Letter, Kanye took to Twitter to shout out his “fams” big record. Later that day, Ye dropped this track he produced featuring GOOD Music emcee, Pusha T. Dig it.

Photo: Tom Medvedich You may already know that Jay-Z sneaked up on the fluffmakers with "Open Letter" this week to address some of the things people have been saying. If you missed the memo from the desk of Hov, here it is for reference. Well, it seems like Jay-Z lit a fire under the rest of the crew, because right out of the gate Pusha T (in association with Kanye ) decided they wanted to get a little something-something. The result? "Numbers on the [...]
After Hov released his track Open Letter , Kanye West made a long overdue reappearance on twitter to state that today will be about real hip hop and Pusha T will be dropping a new track which you can check out below via the link. Our family Hov brought that real hip hop shit this morning so me and Pusha wanna keep that feeling going — KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) April 11, 2013 PUSHA T NUMBERS ON [...]

I listen to a lot of rap music. A lot. And as a white middle class suburban kid who goes to an expensive private college, when people learn this fact about me, the first question is always “Wait, why? How can you possibly get anything out of it?”. Racial undertones aside (and that is a matter for a whole other article), the second question is invariably: “Well then who is your favorite rapper?”. My answer has always been Kid Cudi. Now the answer would be different if the question was: “Who is the best rapper out right now?”. Kid Cudi [...]

It's not the first time we write about Chance The Rapper ; he is talented, beloved and productive. Reasons enough to write about him again. After Juice Chance drops another super soulful production, and again his energy level is incredibly high. It sounds a little bit cliché to compare Chance to Kanye in a certain way, but he has really got something of the positive energy Kanye had on his first 'College Dropout' album. And with John Legend doing some backing vocals on Good Ass Intro it also feels [...]

I'm currently hating on the opposite sex but this song is filling my heart with butterflies. It reminds me of the early 20002s, when r/b and hip-hop were in sweet harmony with one another and Ja Rule wasn't in prison. It was a magical time and this a magical track. Ryan McDermott is the newest member of he G.O.O.D. Music/Island Def Jam family, so expect big things from him in the coming months. posted by @clarkbs

Kanye West's GOOD Music label didn't exactly have the greatest year with 2012. Their extremely hyped collaboration Cruel Summer was received fairly poorly, Kid Cudi's WZRD largely flopped, and Big Sean, CyHi da Prynce and Pusha-T were mostly relegated to mixtapes and guest verses. So naturally, Kanye and co want to start off 2013 on a strong foot, and Pusha T's latest mixtape Wrath of Caine is the cure for what ails GOOD Music. Pusha T is one half of the legendary hip hop duo Clipse, and after [...]
