Glass Animals Reshape Mixtape Read my words over at Sol Republic’s blog . :) Also be sure to snag Glass Animals Leaflings EP via Kaya Kaya Records

The ever-consistent XL has started a new imprint, Kaya Kaya Records , and with it comes their phenomenal first release from Glass Animals . Their Leaflings EP is a dark emotional landscape that wavers between spooky and danceable. These tracks are hard to shake, hyper-emotional and addictive as hell. The full 4-track EP is available for purchase on iTunes, but for now preview their sound below.

I have a feeling that Stubborn Heart are easily going to become one of my favourite acts of the year. I posted about them just last week , but something else spectacular has popped up on their Soundcloud page and I can't resist sharing it. The below track is called Need Someone , it's actually been around since last year but has finally found a home in being the lead single on the forthcoming Need Someone EP set for release June 25th of which I'll definitely be purchasing. Enjoy:

Glass Animals Golden Antlers I can’t get enough of these guys. There have been endless acts to emerge recently involving dope, forward thinking electronic beats surrounding manipulated female vocals in one form or another. Now, I don’t want to trivialize Glass Animals sound, because what they produce is much more expansive and versatile, and I love that they stayed away from current vocal trends and instead made use of a smoky, sand paper through maple syrup male lead. I promise you Glass Animals enchanting sound will haunt your thoughts in [...]

I love how interesting this is. Part of Kaya Kaya Records this is Stubborn Heart, a London-based duo who make what can only be described as soulfully bassy music. It's clever and it's deep, wowwww I'm getting so many good submissions lately it's ridiculous. Best of all this track is free, enjoy:

This soulful jam was written by Luca Santucci and Ben Fitzgerald, and produced by Stubborn Heart (UK). (My guess is that the aforementioned writers comprise Stubborn Heart.) As far as I can tell, "Knuckle Down," on Kaya Kaya Records , is their first release. P.S. Be sure to cop the free download, if you're feelin' it. Wolfey Tweet
Glass Animals Cocoa Hooves Pronounced guitar chords shuffle through funk stained vocals that haunt your thoughts with lyrics like “Why don’t you set your wings on fire…why don’t you play with sex and violence?” as they drip through finger snaps and electronic squeaks, a deep bassline that I can’t get enough of , and vintage harmonies that feel like they belong in a 1960s smoke laden club, are all I know about Glass Animals thus far, and that’s fine. I hear elements of RnB, blues, funk, soul and bass all arranged [...]

Glass Animals today returned from a lengthy absence, but their music is still based on the same principles they had settled on back in 2010 ; it’s ethereal, sensitive and eclectic, but they’ve clearly been busy in the past two years, because it’s fair to say that new track “Cocoa Hooves” makes it sound like they’ve pretty much perfected this niche they invented all for themselves. Vivid lyrics and tentative, trembling vocals make sure that it packs an emotional punch, making “Cocoa Hooves” feel so intimate that it demands all your attention. Genuinely phenomenal, reserved beauty. [...]
