• Facebook • Twitter • Delicious • Email • RSS What a terribly harrowing task it is to make a best of the year list, and really who the hell am I to deem what gets included and what stays on the spreadsheet? Well, I'm a guy with a blog so I guess that's who I am. I thought at first I would have a difficult time gathering 50 albums, quickly I realized that was not the case - there were [...]

1. The Maccabees 'Given to the Wild' Bigger, stronger, slower: boys become men and one of the best bands around. 2. Spector 'Enjoy It While It Lasts' 2012 called; it wants indie back. 3. Mumford & Sons 'Babel' More of the same but it's too inspiring to care. [...]

For the last 20 years, music has primarily entered my lugholes via tinny computers,"i" prefixed devices and a pair of speakers salvaged from a £200 Aiwa midi hi-fi system that was already 10 years old when the Tricky stickers that adorn them were put on. This week Richer Sounds seduced me into a new decent-ish pair of speakers and my god, it's like I grew a new pair of ears! The only trouble is, everything sounds so good, if you put Morris Minor & The Majors "Stutter Rap" on right now, the [...]
Another beautiful track, "Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us" , by Keaton Henson .
In april van dit jaar tipten we 'm al: Keaton Henson, de verlegen troubadour met Bon Iver trekjes uit Engeland. Reden was het vreselijk mooie / droevige liedje 'You Don’t Know How Lucky You Are'. Zeven maanden later is Keaton geen vrolijkere jongen geworden. Het vandaag uitgekomen ep'tje Sweetheart What Have You Done To Us [...] The post Keaton Henson imponeert weer appeared first on Apply Some Pressure .

While we sit here fidgeting through the final few days before the release of Keaton Henson's upcoming EP Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us we're treated to yet another heartbreaking video which features Henson himself. If this was a video from just about any other musician then I'd question the authenticity of the tears and apparent emotional anguish but considering the fact that we're talking about Keaton Henson here then I truly believe that the tears and needing to leave the camera shot because he's breaking down is genuine. Sweetheart, What Have [...]

Another new artist that is making a first appearance on this blog is the singer/songwriter Keaton Henson , who's new EP entitled Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us is out on November 19th. Yet, before then he released a new video for the title track, a slower and heart-broken acoustic jam. It is clearly about a relationship gone wrong, and the video shows Keaton who is extremely believable about his emotions as he sings this jam. Well done. Fresh? [...]
This is an interesting one. The video, I mean, and the pitch, not so much the song, which is pretty straightforward. Really good, I must say, but undeniably direct and to the point. The video, on the other hand, has me feeling a little conflicted. The sales email introduced it thus: "'Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us' captures a real "moment" for Keaton, and is not only the first video in which he appears - it's the first clip we can think of in which a male performer breaks down (Sinead [...]
In which a proper lack of fancy animatrons and cartoonations are replaced by good ol' fashioned human interaction caught on tape. The classic emotional tug is themed on the new music videos this week, with plenty of facial expressions and body language to express the moods and meanings behind the songs. You know, like honest [...]
Keaton Henson breaks your heart with one question in his latest single and video, "Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us." The track appears on his upcoming EP of the same name due out on November 19th and the forthcoming full-length Birthdays , due out in February. The clip shows Henson pouring his heart out to the camera on a beach at dusk. The simplicity of the video is the perfect visual for the stripped beauty of this track. You feel every word uttered and the pain in [...]

The ever-heartbroken Keaton Henson has a new EP entitled Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us out on November 19th, and after demonstrating his versatility with the harder, rockier " Kronos " he's back to his acoustic ways with the EP's quite frankly stunning title track. The raw simplicity of the video is the perfect accompaniment to this gently crushing, instantly relatable tale of a relationship gone wrong, and whilst we would normally congratulate Keaton on his acting skills, you get the impression that in this video he isn't acting, just being himself. Fantastic work, from an [...]
"Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us" is the first music video that Keaton Henson and the wait was worth it! This video is pretty is a good'n. Video directed by William Williamson. "Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us" will be released on 18th December and is available to Pre-Order now on iTunes UK . Previously: Introducing Keaton Henson

Keaton Henson will release his extraordinary 'Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us' EP on November 19, 2012 - the first taster from his second album, 'Birthdays' (February 18, 2013). This follows Keaton's critically acclaimed debut 'Dear…' , which was Rough Trade Album of the Month, iTunes' One To Watch for 2012 and led to support across Radio 1, XFM, 6music and Radio 2. Despite ongoing issues with stage-fright, Keaton recently played his two debut live shows at Kennington's Cinema [...]
You may have heard of Tired Arms a few months back, when we raved about their remix of Keaton Henson's You Don't Know How Lucky You Are , catching the ear of Zane Lowe and earning air time and some deserved exposure on his Radio 1 show in the process. The British duo bring their own brand of emotional intensity to the newly released Tired Arms EP ; a smart but sweet take on modern post-rock. The twosome share similarities with their post-rock peers, [...]

Keaton Henson has been floating around for some time now, struggling with nerves, leading most to know very little about him. However, there is one bit of information that's universally accepted as true, the man knows how to make beautiful, heartbreaking music (See "You Don't Know How Lucky You Are" ). Now, we have another example of uneasy Henson's skill as a songwriter, with "Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us." Listen below.

♫ "You Make Me Feel Good" - Satin Jackets "baby, you make me feel good..." ♫ "Breakers" - Local Natives "can't see out, but they see in..." ♫ "Ghosts" - ON AN ON "i can feel them taking me over..." ♫ "Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us" - Keaton Henson "please just come here..." ♫ "Put Me To Work" - PAPA [...]

Londoner Keaton Henson's latest venture, 'Sweetheart, What Have You Done To Us' is incredibly moving, managing to pull emotions together using so few instruments; it's really quite baffling how he does it. It's channelled through his guitar, as it rises and falls in and out of the song, as the lyrics provide a perfect parallel to the deeply desolate music. It pulls you in and lets you go in a crescendo of echoed voices, guitars and smooth cello, leaving you wishing you could revel in it all over again, to revisit everything you just felt in the previous three-and-a-half minutes [...]
