MP3: True Widow - Bathyscaphe Usually this would be a good fall post. True Widow make that perfect autumn drone you want to hear while sipping on pumpkin beers and wearing long sleeves, but it's almost 80 degrees outside. What kind of bullshit is that? I.N.O. is out now on Kemado .
The team agrees: the new Saviours LP is total goddamn aces. Here's the vid for "Crete'n", dig in mother fuckers.

Faces on Film - Manitoba (Acoustic) by mikefiore333 Faces on Film (which is the musical alias of multi-instrumentalist Mike Fiore) opened the show for Marissa Nadler at Littlefield. I wasn't that familiar with Faces on Film's music prior to listening to Mike's acoustic set but his rich, emotive voice reminded me of Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters) or Ours' Jimmy Gnecco. One of the standout tracks from his set was "Manitoba" and a full-band version of this tracks has been added to the iTunes reissue of Faces on [...]

MP3: Saviours - The Eye Obscene It's never worth putting much stock in a bands' name, but Saviours truly are what they preach. Death's Procession is out September 6th on Kemado . "The Eye Obscene" is your first mind melting look into it's sun.
Finally came around and listened to True Widow 's 2nd full length As High As The Highest Heavens And From The Center To The Circumference Of The Earth which can be added to the list of long-ass album titles. The video was shot by Matt Eks at various locations around beautiful Texas, looks mostly like my lovely city of Dallas. Check this record out via Kemado -for the fans of the lost sub-genre of Slow-core.
Dallas trio True Widow makes huge racket. Not nearly as huge as the title of their latest long player- As High As the Mountains and From the Center to the Circumference of Earth -but big (and sllooooww), nonetheless. I guess it makes sense considering everything is bigger in Texas-including opening bass lines. Try "Skull Eyes" on for size-so good you'll forget the band gave themselves the hideous label "stonegaze." "Skull Eyes" - True Widow Like The Days [...]

MP3: True Widow - Skull Eyes Holy shit, I don't know how everyone isn't going apeshit over how great this record is: "As High as the Highest Heavens and from the Center to the Circumference of the Earth" is brand new from Texas-trio True Widow , and it's entirely bad ass. Sludgegaze? Shoedrone? Labels and genres are silly. Cop this on vinyl now from Kemado Records .

MP3: Zond - Choam MP3: Zond - Face In Grey How do you describe the sound of Melbourne, Australia's Zond ? Easy: you don't. You just take in the sweat, the fog, the dirt, the piss and the goddamned evil and you will love it. Kemado just issued Zond's self titled LP in the States (between this and the release of Beaches on their Mexican Summer imprint the company is killing it in Aussie badassery) on some pretty [...]

MP3: Earthless - Demon Lady A while back I posted Danava's song from their split with Earthless and Lecherous Gaze and it ripped! Today I bring you "Demon Lady" by the aforementioned Earthless who rule quite a lot. Serious buy this split, it brings the fun back to the concept and the whole thing jams hard. Fuck yeah!
Kemado Records has finalized the lineup for its 2011 SXSW showcase. Thursday, March 17, at Valhalla in Austin, TX, Kemado "summons a night of thunderous, space-travelling sounds, promising more steel, sludge, and psych than any other show at the festival." The full details follow: KEMADO RECORDS SXSW Showcase: Thursday, March 17 Valhalla 71... Read More/Discuss on Metal Underground.com

After the last bit of touring on Unonou, my #1 record fo 2008, Danava dropped off the face of the earth. Between then and now, they had a secret lineup change and have been writing: exciting stuff. The first evidence of quality to come is "The Illusion Crawls", a new track featured on a 3 way split 12" with Earthlesss and Lecherous Gaze. It rules to say the least.
The Sword just unveiled the video for their super rad song "Tres Brujas" from Warp Riders , which is out today! Go pick it up or I will smash you in the face (with a pillow and some hugs, maybe?) . Check out more tour dates "after the jump" THE SWORD FALL TOUR DATES 9/15/10: Melbourne, AUS - Rod Laver Arena* 9/16/10: Melbourne, AUS Rod Laver Arena*

The Sword return with heavy concepts and heavier riffs. Music - Arts - Kemado Records - Game - Video Games
One of my favorite day dreams revolves around time travel. Not the kind of time travel where you are magically transported 100 years into the future so you can finally get that jet pack you've always wanted. And not the kind of time travel where you go back to the 16th century and blow everyone's mind with your intermediate understanding of high school physics. Instead, in my imagination I am the chaperon for someone else who has travelled through time - specifically someone who has come from the past. Maybe it's because I love playing teacher, but I [...]

Any month that passes by without a new record from The Sword is painful, but the dudes are finally back with their 3rd long player: "Warp Riders". The artwork for it (and the cover above for the single) pretty much show you how awesome this is gonna sound. Better yet, for your email you can get an mp3 of "Trej Brujas" for free. Get stoked. "Warp [...]
Yes, yes, Hell-friggin-yes. Six weeks until I get to have my face rocked off ( once again ) by one of my favorite bands in the world: The Sword . No, I am not kidding or being ironic, I consider their third full-length, Warp Riders , among my most eagerly anticipated albums of the year. Today, Kemado Records and The Sword gave us a little sample of what the band has in store on August 24th and, evidently, the "metal stalwarts" ( saw it in the press release [...]
One of the biggest cogs in the metal revival machinery forged over the past 7 years, The Sword , are set to release their third album for Kemado Records on August 24th. The follow-up to 2006's Age of Winters and 2008's Gods of the Earth , Warp Riders , is poised to blow my effing mind and after inclusion in the last three editions of Guitar Hero, you know they'll be poised to deliver the molar-rattling riffs we've come to expect from the Austin, TX quartet.
