Kendrick Lamar has been considered the future of west coast hip hop by some of the "best" coast's hip hop elite. Now that Dr. Dre has decided to get on a track with KL he is really getting the validation he needs to put out his debut album this summer.

Who knows when Dr. Dre will release his own new material but yesterday, a brand new track featuring the Dre did indeed hit the internet. It's a track titled "The Recipe" and is taken from Kendrick Lamar 's debut studio album, Good Kid in a Mad City which is due out later this year on TDE/Aftermath/Interscope. Kendrick Lamar has been on many people's radar for awhile now. Hell, his major label debut, Good Kid In A Mad City , is just around the corner. Even further, the major labor Lamar is spitting for is owned by the one and only Dr. Dre, who is featured on the latest single from the upcoming album, "The Recipe". Worst kept secret: slap Dr. Dre's name on anything and it will sell. This goes for headphones to herb. You haven't lived until you've smoked the Xxplosive line of double triple THC OG Great Grandpappy Kush. It was tied in with Dr. Dre's last single, "Kush." Am I joking? You will never know. So it's no surprise that the ghost of Dre is all over the new Kendrick single. They conveniently premiered it on Power 106 and that makes me glad. Last Friday this track was getting hyped up for its Monday release, now it's here and definitely lives up to the hype. Kendrick is slated to be dropping a new album through TDE/Interscope/Aftermath and this track is the first single. It's rare to get anything from Dr. Dre these days so this feature is huge. What a great way to start of the week! "The Recipe" is Kendrick's first single from his next album through Aftermath and Interscope. It's been a while since I've heard Dr. Dre on a track and not felt he seemed out of place. Then again its been a while since I've heard a Dr. Dre track. This one is a jam.

There was some buzz last week about a Kendrick and Dr. Dre collaboration and here it is. The Scoop Deville produced track has the duo rhyming about Cali's renowned Women, Weed, and Weather. After the stellar " Cartoons & Cereal ," Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar drops a new single, and land's a feature from none other than Dr. Dre. Of course, this special occasion needs a special instrumental. The beat here sounds bit more refined than the instrumentals Kendrick usually spits over, featuring loads of plucked and bowed strings. A distant female vocal sample adds another element of beauty, too. The lyrics tossed between Kendrick and Dre show pride in their hometown. Though other cities can be great, there's no place like home.

Kendrick Lamar is in the major leagues following the announcement of him signing with Top Dawg Entertainment and his upcoming debut studio album, Good Kid in a Mad City, which seems to be appropriately titled seeing how his roots are based in Compton, California. Today on Power 106 in L.A., Kendrick debuted his single "The Recipe" which is features another Compton native and infamous pioneer of West Coast G'Funk, Dr. Dre. With Dre's quality production and Kendrick's raw lyrics make this track an easy listen.
