Saw a lot of people co-signing this artist, so I decided to give his latest song/video a listen. He's got Sway, Kendrick and Premo shout him out in the beginning of the video! He's also got a good message in this track and I'm definitely going to look up more about this dude. Keep a look out for his Church Clothes mixtape dropping on May 10th!

We've saved the best for last! As many of you already know, Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre closed off an incredible weekend at Coachella. It was such a big deal that I had to make a separate post for just this set. So many great rappers made guest appearances with the hip-hop legends. The names include, [...]

Childish Gambino brought out Kendrick Lamar to kick a verse from "Look Out For Detox" earlier today in Indio. Danny Brown came out in some Jeremy Scott to join the fun. Think there are there any asian girls at Coachella? Childish Gambino Brings Out Kendrick Lamar & Danny Brown At Coachella (Video) |
We asked Hima and Kool A.D. from Das Racist to host a hip-hop show for Noisey - they kept things simple and named it RAP SHOW. For the first episode, Hima sat down with Compton MC Kendrick Lamar on St. Patrick's Day to talk about black hippies, the N word, lucid dreaming, and Home Improvement. Heems runs a nice interview. I was just talking to the homey Will about not remembering dreams the other night. Look for Himanshu & Victor to interview your favorite artists every Friday for Vice's new noisey channel. Killer [...]

Honestly, ever since I got my hands on LongTerm 2, I had Ab-Soul and Kendrick tied neck and neck for my top lyricist. His wordplay and flow is very unique and puts out the kind of lyrics you have to listen to a few times before you can fully understand the meaning behind it. Plus, Jhene is in this song, and she's the perfect compliment let alone a great artist. Ab-Soul - Terrorist Threats (feat. Danny Brown, Jhene Aiko)
What a great way to start of the week! "The Recipe" is Kendrick's first single from his next album through Aftermath and Interscope. It's been a while since I've heard Dr. Dre on a track and not felt he seemed out of place. Then again its been a while since I've heard a Dr. Dre track. This one is a jam.
The Recipe from TopDawg Ent on Vimeo . Morning all. At the request of blogfather Jamarcus who is on a plane headed south, I am posting the highly anticipated new Kendrick Lamar single featuring Dr. Dre. When Marc first heard this song it was called Women Weed and Weather and Damien Marley was on it. Produced by Scoop Deville, it's smooth and kind of wonderful and definitely going to be big. Hear it here first. Is it everything you hoped it would be? Listen: Kendrick Lamar featuring Dr. Dre - [...]

If you don't count Look Out For Detox , this is the first track that this best of both worlds duo has put out. Has it lived up to the hype? I think you answer yes. All of the Top Dawg members tweeted this video early this morning, giving their fans a nice audio breakfast to wake up to. To put it simple, this song is dope. The West Coast is standing up tall right now!

If you're asking yourself who's Buddy then you must've missed Pharrell's introduction last fall of him signing the 18 year old from Compton. I must say, for someone that young, "Staircases" sounds pretty mature. This is off of Buddy's debut mixtape Idle Time . Production by Pharrell. "The way he thinks, and his ability to articulate that is just—I hadn't seen anything like it," Skateboard P said. "I was like, man, this guy, he is I Am Other. He's not some ordinary child. He's a kid [...]
Mac Miller 's new mixtape Macadelic has features from the likes of Cam'ron, Kendrick Lamar, Juicy J, Lil Wayne & more. And top-notch production from ID Labs, Cardo, Hannibal King , Clams Casino & more. This could've easily have been an album. I don't know, but it's gotta be pretty tough for the haters right now. Check out the tracklist & download Macadelic below: 01 Love Me As I Have Loved You (prod. Ritz Reynolds) 02 Desperado (prod. ID Labs) 03 Loud (prod. ID Labs) [...]
The long-awaited, highly-anticipated interview with the good kid from Compton. It's always nice to see Kendrick have fun in interviews because it seems like all he's been doing for the past couple years is touring. Good to see that he has a lot of life left for this Canadian interviewer.

Ok, I don't usually listen to Mac Miller, but for this track I had to make an exception. One of my favorite rappers is on this track (Kendrick) along with one of my favorite producers (Iman Omari), so I had to give it a listen. It is too smooth of a song. The only way to tell if a song is good is by listening, so I'll let you get to that. Also, check out Mac Miller's newest mixtape, Macadelic . It's the least I could do for him providing us with a song. I'll also so this: [...]
Game stays squinting in his pretty powerful and emotional video for "The City". Make sure you watch the whole way through for the ending and Kendrick's verse.
"The City" is probably the best song on Game's tax write-off/coaster The R.E.D. Album . The Compton collaboration gets a clip that's sort of an anti-violence PSA from director Matt Alonzo. It's kinda funny how Jayceon has relied on Tyler, The Creator & Kendrick Lamar's rising stars his last two singles. The R.E.D. Album is in stores now. Game - The City ft. Kendrick Lamar (Video) |
Haven't really listened to The Game post-The Documentary, but I thought I give this video a shot since Kendrick is in it. Game, after all, is the one who personally and publicly that Kendrick is the new king of the West. The Game feat. Kendrick Lamar - The City (Official Video) from K. Dot on Vimeo .
If you've never seen this dude perform, you're truly missing out. If you're a Black Hippy fan or just a hip-hop fan in general, you have to get online and look up the closest upcoming show near you. The first time I saw ScHoolboy Q live, him and Ab-Soul jumped in the crowd right next to us and bounced around for a good 5 minutes. Watching this video gave me goosebumps as memories went through my head. #HiiiPoWeR #HnC

Aubrey "Drake" Graham and I have sort of a weird thing. As much as a back tattoo of Aaliyah and starring in a goofy Canadian teen soap opera might give any artist a dubious distinction, my palette for Drake has evolved completely organically. My first exposure to Drake was as the pea-coated spitter on the Comeback Season cover but his true commercial breakthrough was So Far Gone , where he hit his H-Town-meets-Blackstreet stride (and presumably started really getting after the dirty sprite). When he released his official debut album [...]

Can't call it surprising, but definitely an exciting move today as Kendrick Lamar and the rest of the TDE Family officially sign with Aftermath Records. Kendrick's official debut album Good Kid in a Mad City and any other Black Hippy projects will be released via a TDE/Interscope/Aftermath joint partnership. Congrats to TDE & Black Hippy. I'll be expecting Eminem, Truth Hurts, Rakim, Slim The Mobster, Stat Quo and Bishop Lamont on that new Kendrick album. And The Firm.
