There were many strong music videos this week, and a couple that I loved, from actual adults. But no grown-up is going to beat a charged-up mob of Minneapolis children rapping about bikes and school uniforms. I'm sorry. It's just not ever going to happen. Our picks for the week are below.

An all-white funeral and a party in a field. A baptism in liquor. You won't find a bigger fan of Kendrick Lamar's stuff, but I really don't "get" this one at all. Which may be the point – to deny us legions of TDE Stans the escapism of a silky smooth big-budget hip-hop video. "Death to molly" says the closing shot. Clad in all white, Kendrick Lamar celebrates the life of an unknown entity in his latest video for "B*tch, Don't Kill My Vibe." The video's shot with a somewhat soft saturation, matching the song's laidback, sometimes-somber tone. Mike Epps ( Next Friday ) makes a cameo in the video, baptizing Lamar in a pool full of liquor. There's an easter egg at the end of the video, too, so keep your eyes open for that. You can check the video out below.
" Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe " may have been the most instantly iconic song on the young rap god Kendrick Lamar's masterful 2012 album Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City , but it's only now getting a video. The first time you see it, the clip is both beautiful and confounding - Kendrick and his associates, dressed all in white, attending a funeral that doubles as a raucous party. As it turns out, though, there's a punchline, one I won't give away. I laughed. You might, too. Kendrick's Black Hippy confederates make cameos, as do Juicy J [...]
We've been hearing about this one for quite a while, but it looks like the final cut to Kendrick Lamar 's "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe" video has finally been made. With loads of religious references, Lamar employs serious tones with shades of humor. Such as the liquor baptism from comedian Mike Epps. Oh, and there is some product placement, too, as Beats By Kendrick's new product the Pill makes a cameo midway through the video. All-in-all, the video is shot incredibly well, and it is yet another reason to listen to this good kid, m.A.A.d [...]

Are music videos on the way out? I don't know. Probably not. A million of the things seem to materialize on YouTube every day, and they're probably still the best way for younger artists to introduce themselves to the curious public. But more and more, big acts seem to be forgoing the music video for promotional stunts: H&M bikini commercials, clips where they go bowling with Steve Buscemi. A note to artists: Those things are fine and all, but they almost never turn out anywhere near as good as a well-executed music video. Below, check out five well-executed music videos [...]
