Kendrick Lamar recently sat down with Power 98's Bootleg Kev and, amongst several topics, says we shouldn’t expect to get another album from him for "a while". With the way music is poured on us in this day and age, "a while" could mean 6 months. However, if Kendrick is taking his time and crafting another classic "a while" might mean "when baby elephants learn tae kwon do." I’m sure he's going to pop up on features and release mixtapes so his fans don’t forget him but unfortunately we shouldn't expect a sophomore album anytime soon.
In this new interview with Bootleg Kev, Kendrick Lamar has a lot to speak on since the release of good kid, m.A.A.d. city . This includes his new track with J. Cole and their upcoming collaborative project, the whole thing that went down with Shyne hating on GKMC , and when we can expect a new album from the Compton spitter. For those who want more Kendrick sooner than later, you might be disappointed. Check out the interview below. [ via ]

In this interview with Power 982s Bootleg Kev, Kendrick Lamar speaks on a lot, from what people might see about the balance of his music (from his more "conscious" output to his verse on "Fucking Problem" ), good kid, m.A.A.d. city being called a "classic," and much more. He also flat-out says to not expect an album from him for "a while," although he's recording all of the time. What are your thoughts on that? Would you rather get another dope album from Kendrick that might not live up to his major label debut or [...]
It appears that Kendrick Lamar 's been in Europe recently, as he stopped by the set of French TV show Le Grand Journal to showcase his live talents with a performance. He ran through two good kid, m.A.A.d. city cuts. Obviously, one of them was the project's lead single, " Swimming Pools (Drank) ", which I'm certain continues to grow on folks as there hear it within the context of the album. Likewise, he tackled " Backseat Freestyle ", another track I've heard folks both praise and bash. Personally, I dig both songs, [...]
The Kendrick Lamar x Lady Gaga track that should have been.

I never got the whole Lady Gaga obsession but that being said after living with my girlfriend for two years and having her listening on the regular I *kind of* do understand it all a little better. Sue me. I was also a little confused when Kendrick Lamar released his album good kid, m.A.A.d. city and she didn't feature considering those two seemed to be the best of friends at one point last year. According to Complex the reason she didn't feature was she didn't get the vocal to Kendrick in time [...]
Kendrick Lamar wanted Lady Gaga to sing the hook on good kid, m.A.A.d. city highlight "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe," but for some reason or another the demo they recorded just didn't fly with the powers that be. It just turns out that the demo was actually quite great. Figures. What happens when Kendrick Lamar is challenged to freestyle from flashcards? You get a freestyle that is entertaining, hilarious, thought-provoking, sort of political and really, really impressive. Watch the incredible freestyle, which went down at Dallas radio station K104, below. Fresh? Tweet

When Kendrick Lamar released Section.80 in 2011, everything clicked. He wasn't yet a star, but he was ready. While a lot of people are just now getting familiar with Kendrick thanks to the excellent good kid m.A.A.D. city , he's been working towards this point for years. For years, he's been mastering his craft and putting in work with TDE, and he's gone from a background member to an internet sensation to the guy that a lot of people are pointing to as the most important rapper to come around in a long time. Courtesy of Scoremore and AEG, Kendrick Lamar rocked Dallas on Halloween night. Fans new and old lined up over a block at South Side Music Hall waiting for the Compton artist to perform. Accompanied by his DJ/engineer, Ali , Kendrick started off the set by playing some older tracks off mixtapes Section.80 and Overly Dedicated and worked his way to performing tracks off his latest project, good kid m.A.A.d. city . The audience rapped along in [...]
Usually when emcees stop by radio stations they drop written "freestyles" over regurgitated beats. Dallas radio station K104 had Kendrick Lamar spit a true freestyle, using words provided by the station on cue cards. Oh and Drake was in the studio too, but he chose to play the back. Haven't really seen this kind of freestyle since Big Tigga & Rap City The Bassment . good kid m.A.A.d city is out now. Video: Kendrick Lamar Freestyle For K104 FM |

We imagine that LA heads were wondering who Samsung would bring out to their Galaxy Note II launch party this week after seeing Kanye West touch down in New York City . It made the most sense for Samsung to bring out Kendrick Lamar at their Galaxy Note II launch party in Los Angeles, we'd say. Reports say he performed a few tracks from good kid, m.A.A.d city on stage, but only video from his Hit-Boy produced "Backseat Freestyle" performance has surfaced. ( [...]

Last night while performing on the LongLiveA$AP tour, Rocky decided while in the state of Cali (Oakland) to test our his new single, "F*ckin Problem". The track features Drake, 2chainz and Kendrick Lamar, who was in Oakland with fellow Black Hippy member SchoolboyQ. During the show A$AP dropped his new single and brought out Kendrick for the track. Definitely a live setting here, especially with this weeks hip-hop landscape being totally dedicated to #GKMC. Hit the jump to watch the clip. Read our interview with A$AP, from a couple weeks back when he was in Chicago

A$AP Rocky was in Oakland the other night to promote his forthcoming album, LongLiveA$AP and he surprised the crowd by bringing out Kendrick Lamar . The two performed "Fuckin' Problem," and while neither 2 Chainz nor Drake (who was probably off celebrating his birthday somewhere) were around for their parts, you best believe A$AP Rocky and Kendrick still gave the audience a fuckin' problem. Watch the performance below. ( Hip-Hop N More )

With the internet making a joyful noise for Kendrick Lamar 's stellar major label debut good kid, m.A.A.d city ," one element that might fade into the background of the discussion is that the album isn't just great, it sounds great. That sonic quality is due in large part to Kendrick's trusted engineer Mixed By Ali, who speaks with LRG about Kendrick's recording process, mixing "Swimming Pools" with Dr. Dre's help, and differentiating yourself in your field, no matter what it may be. Engineers are often unsung heroes consigned to liner notes nobody reads anymore, because [...]

I was ready to crown Nas' album, "Life is Good" as the best hip hop album of the year, until I heard Good Kid: M.A.A.D City. Safe to say Kendrick Lamar has stolen that title with his album debut. Instant Classic. Not words you hear thrown around hear a lot, but I will give praise when it is due. Check out his performance of Swimming Pools (Drank) on Conan last night. Good Kid: M.A.A.D City is in stores now.
