Apparently Anthony Green and Kenny Vasoli got together for a one off show at the House of Vans courtesy of Vans/AltPress. It also sounds like we'll be getting some sort of new material released from Vasoli some times in 2012. For now you can watch his run through a slew of different material along with AG's set right after.

I gotta give shout outs to All Things Go for keepin an ear out and turning me onto this exciting discovery. Long-time followers of BWC will take note that I've been a big fan of Kenny Vasoli whether it be during his time fronting pop-punk powerhouse The Starting Line or his dive into experimentalism with Person L . Unbeknownst to me, Vasoli has been working on another project the past few months. Vacationer features the help of Body Language and the [...]

Talk about growing up. Kenny Vasoli has gone through a number of projects of note. I'm sure we all remember pop-punk stalwarts The Starting Line back from our younger days. Then there was Person L, an experimental rock outfit we've featured numerous times here on ATG. The latest to come from the Philly native is Vacationer , a collaboration with another favorite of ours, Body Language . Many of you may already be familiar with "Trip," their exotic, soulful, beat-driven debut. Yesterday Vacationer premiered "Gone," a dreamy, laid-back number that strangely matches the moniker as well as its [...]
I really can not believe this is Kenny Vasoli on vocals. The frontman of the pop-punk group The Starting Line, didn't really catchy my attention with his side project, Person L. His new venture, Vacationer , sees him take on a more personal dream pop route. The first track released, "Trip", is exactly that. It feels like a heavy drugged-induced holiday that seems to be as tranquil as possible. So tranquil, that you will start creating your own highly choreographed dance moves on mountaintops. Some of the background effects remind me of the sounds you hear on the queue on Space [...]
Kenneth, formerly Kenny, Vasoli has been making music on a professional level since the tender age 15, first with his successful pop-punk band The Starting Line , currently on hiatus, and now with his heavier, more experimental band Person L . Person L , started as a side project while TSL was still up and rolling, was planned as an outlet for some Vasoli's heavier influence's like At The Drive-In , Fugazi and Drive Like Jehu . The results on the bands first disc, the 8 track Initial, showed these heavier elements, [...]

Update : Hey! It looks like they have plans to get back together , whenever that may be. So I guess this DVD's just supposed to tide us over until then. It's strange how sometimes you only start caring about things once they're gone. I was never a huge fan of The Starting Line while they were around, but after listening to frontman Kenny Vasoli's latest work with Person L pretty much non-stop recently, I've become intrigued by the former pop-punk giant's past. As a result, I've learned a lot about the band [...]

A while back I posted on Kenny Vasoli's (ex-The Starting Line) latest project, Person L . Their debut albumette, Initial , carried a thoughtful, progressive feel that was unlike anything written during the frontman's pop-punk past. Now the Philly five-piece are gearing up to release their first full-length album, The Positives , and to celebrate they've released it's first single, "Untitled." So far, I'm loving it. It's more upbeat than anything from their previous work, but it definitely packs the same punch as Initial 's closer, " Storms ." If anything, I'd liken it to an [...]

Check out this interview where Joshua talks to Aaron Marsh of Copeland about his "to do" list that has as many items as his piano has keys. Joshua Hammond, PopWreckoning: Let's start here: you guys often get mislabeled as a ministry band. Where do you think this misconception stems from? Aaron Marsh , Copeland : Our music has kind of a hopeful quality to it. Some of the bands that we toured with in our earlier days [...]
The Starting Line was one of those pop-punk bands that I just never could really get into. Even though "Best of Me" was probably one of the most sugar-coated (and catchy at that) songs released in my very young adulthood, the single never caught on and for that reason I didn't pay much attention to any of the band's subsequent work. However, I'm really glad that such disinterest didn't keep me from giving the debut albumette of TSL front man Kenny Vasoli's latest project, Person L, a listen. The Pennsylvania five-piece released Initial back in the summer of [...]

Although she was fighting against a terrible cold, PopWreckoning's Bethany recently got a chance to chat with the guitarist for Philadelphia's pop rock outfit Valencia , Brendan Walter . In between coughs and sneezes, Bethany managed to talk to Walter about the band's history, activities and latest video. Bethany, PopWreckoning: Hi, how are you doing? Brendan Walter, Valencia: Very good, how are you? PW: I'm good, just getting ready for the holidays. Do you have any big plans? BW: Not really. Just hanging out with [...]

As the alt-Christian rocker Aaron Gillespie works on his sophomore album for The Almost , the multi-instrumentalist and singer found the time to get together a short holiday EP for his fans. As he is best known for his work as Underoath 's drummer, Gillespie fittingly based his EP around the holiday tune "Little Drummer Boy", which is on the EP as a song and loans the EP its title of No Gift to Bring . If you liked Gillespie's work with The Starting Line 's Kenny Vasoli on "Yule Be Sorry", then [...]
Valencia, a pop punk group from Philadelphia, is back with a strong sophomore album We All Need a Reason to Believe. This album is chock full of radio friendly songs about moving on while looking back on the past and then having to accept the changes. You'd better be prepared to have album opener "Better Be [...]
The Gallery must take their band name very seriously because each song on their debut album If You Know What I Mean acts as intimate portrait. Listening to each song is like taking a stroll at an art exhibit, with each masterpiece revealing more about the artist, making The Gallery a fitting band name. Perhaps [...]
