"naked with my ankle bracelet, call me Chief Keef Sweat." Today we have the second installment of Auggie The 9th's People's Court series. Here he goes in over "Get Busy" by The Roots and brings along Westley Parker and ShowYouSuck for the posse cut. This was recorded at Westley's place, where he is currently riding out a house arrest sentence. The sentence ends this week, so maybe we'll be seeing Westley on some stages with ShowYouSuck and Auggie soon. The song is fresh. Download it below. Auggie The 9th: Kevin McAllister (Free Wessy P)

I don't really think people know how much I love Otis Redding , a man with so much soul it hurts. So you can understand that I was going absolutely bonkers when I heard my main woman Florence + The Machine covered one of his classics, "Try A Little Tenderness" when she stopped by to record her second live album for MTV Unplugged . Seriously, go through and listen to this album. It's so incredibly good. Word, Kev

I know what you've always been wondering... What in the world does Australian Hip-Hop sound like. Well, you are welcome because I have the answer. This is me introducing you to Dutch , an aussie hip-hop artist who's killing it right now. It's kinda cool because you can actually tell he's Australian, which makes me chuckle. This track is from his self titled first studio album, Dutch , and is called "Don't Mean A Thing" Don't Mean A Thing | Support The Artist Word, Kev

I don't really have to say much here to get you guys excited for Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros' new album, Here , which is due May 29th. How could you not be excited? Regardless, here is the second single from this heavily anticipated album. I'm sure it will only excited you more. It's called "That's What's Up." All I can say is... so far, so damn good. That's whats up. Word, Kev

I think we all were kicked onto Temper Trap's band wagon with the release of ever-catchy and ever-played "Sweet Disposition." Well the fellas are back at it and released their newest single called "Need Your Love." The new album which will feature this track is called The Temper Trap and is set to be released on June 5th for us in the states, earlier for people overseas. For full track listings and release dates, click HERE . Word, Kev

It's only March and we have been provided with a ton of awesome music with no signs of slowing down. It's been quite a bit since we have heard something new from these fellas but The Temper Trap is back and kickin' with a new, full length album due out in May. The self-titled, soon to be released, The Temper Trap , is set to impress if the couple of songs that have been released are any indication of what the rest will sound like. "Rabbit Hole" starts acoustically and then builds into a explosive ballad. The voice [...]

Here comes an indie song I think we can all agree on. The band is called Virginia Wing and they are a brand spanking new London-town band. This song is called "Divination" and its a hard hitting lo-fi song similar to The Shins or The Mamas and The Papas for some of you older folk. I expect big things from these fellas. First of all, it should be noted that the image above is not the album artwork, but an awesome ass picture (not of an ass). The artist, however, is a mashup artist named Onelove , and they threw down this fantastic mix of Florence + The Machine's "Shake it Out" and then some Katy Perry song, I say that not to be disrespectful, but mostly because I have no idea (and couldn't figure out) what song it is of hers, and also because she doesn't really have quite the impact that Flo delivers on this [...]

What's up y'all. A happy Friday to everyone! I'm bringing you guys a Chicago-based electro-indie group called Gemini Club . This stuff is too awesome, honestly haven't heard anything so bold in a while. Super fun indie-rock with some 802s synth sounds popping up every now and then. This band is versatile and I'm really digging what they've been throwing out there. Also if you happen to be at SXSW, these fellas will be there so check them out! Word, Kev

This track brings me back to the "roots" of my love for music. Gentle voice and classic folk harmonica... reminds me of Jackie Greene . The artist today is Xavier Rudd and he recently released this single called "Follow the Sun." This song drives me outdoors, with awesome imagery, if you close your eyes you're sure to be daydreaming of a picnic in the mountains or the woods. Its pretty awesome, and exactly what I need on a grey and slushy day in Minneapolis. Check it out, and let me know what you think. If you dig it, [...]

Coming at you right now is an Australian band named Husky . I stumbled on these guys and though they could use plenty of listening from some ears in the States. The band released an album entitled Forever So in Australia and is set to be released in the US this summer. Listen up for these guys as they make a splash in the next few months. This track is called "The Woods" The Woods | Support the Artist Word, Kev

Alright, I see you, Chiddy Bang . With the debut of their first studio album just around the corner ( Breakfast , set to be released on the 28th), they released a little snippet of just how glorious this will be. I have always dug Xaphoon's ability to make me bob my head, but it's not the beats and samples that make this track "Grab a Plate" so special. It's Chiddy's flow, which is nonstop. He doesn't waste a single second of this track spitting from beginning to end. Check it out, and if you feel the urge, pre-order [...]

Lo-Fi artist Ryan Thomas Schmale, otherwise known as his stage name That Ghost , released an EP in about a week ago entitled Rosalind , named after his grandmother (whom I have to imagine is pictured in the photo above). This track, "Morning Now" is catching some ears and I figured the readers of MTIB would dig it. It's chill, a little John Lennon-esque. Check it out. Morning Now | Support The Artist Word, Kev

What's good y'all, this is a Scottish band called Django Django , they just released their self titled album very recently. The album is actually pretty sick. This is going to sound weird, but its like a grunge-pop-rock combo that really works for these guys. Plus their name is just hilarious. Check out this sample of the album, it's called "Storm." This painfully beautiful song is by a man named Damien Jurado , an artist who I would consider a more artfully/audibly emotional (for better or for worse) version of Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. This song comes from his latest album MARAQOPA and is available for a free download if you head over to RCRDLBL. I'll post the link below. DOWNLOAD "MUSEUM OF FLIGHT" HERE Word, Kev

This is pretty awesome stuff I must say. The artist is Wild Nothing and consists of one man named Jack Tatum (sounds like he belongs in a mystery novel). He just released this single (with hopes that he is bringing more, of course) via his label Captured Tracks. This guy is helping to improve the lo-fi experience for me, so he must be doing something right. Check him out. Support The Artist Word, Kev

If y'all want some funky music to groove to, you need to check out Evan Voytas' latest EP, Can't Let Anybody Know Who You Are. Stitched with the high pitched sounds of Passion Pit , with a little more traditional rock guitar riffs, this guy is one giant compromise between indie and rock. This song, "You Don't Even Know Where It's At," is a climaxing song that is irresistible to bob your knee too. Check it out and let me know what you all think! You Don't Even Know Where It's At [...]

Now I realize that what I'm bringing you today isn't the newest selection of tunesage, but just thought I'd give you guys a heads up that my man Joe Pug is offering a free 5 songs sampler download at his website now! So click the "Support The Artist" link below! If you dig classical folk music at its finest, than you'll dig the shit out of this guy. He's currently about to do a quick stint of shoes in the UK, but you have got to check this guy out when he comes to town. Great show and [...]

Whether you want an awesome new indie-pop song, whether you too want a "Brand New Start," or whether you just enjoy seeing pasty skinny guys in their skivvies, this track is for you. This band, Concrete Knives , is a French group that is catchy as hell, rugged and unrefined at times, but always honest. Let us know if you dig them and we'll be sure to swing around and throw some more of these guys on! Brand New Start | Support The Artist Word, Kev

Mmm this song is delicious. One of my favorite remix/mashup artists ( The Hood Internet ) remixes one of my favorite new artists ( M83 ) and one of my favorite indie-pop artists ( Mayer Hawthorne ). So needless to say, it was hard for him to fail, but even so... this gem rocks my freaking socks off. I love it, almost as much as The White Panda's remix of M832s Midnight City with Kanye's "The Good Life." Check out this song and tell me what you think, and note the emphasized M83 sax solo. If you dig it, you [...]
