On Thursday night while Dublin music fans were celebrating the opening night of Hard Working Class Heros, Kiernan McMullan was performing in Boyles of Slane. I can genuinely say that Kiernan is the most talented guitarist and songwriter I've met. His performance was simply phenomenal and if there's one act you must check out from reading this blog let it be Kiernan McMullan! 'Like' him here: http://www.facebook.com/kierna nmcmullanmusic [...]

Senakah the new name for Limerick's Seneca are headlining October's 'Live at Boyles' the sessions gig I organise in Boyles, Slane. Senakah are close to releasing their second album 'Human Relations' produced by Noel Hogan from The Cranberries. Here's a track from that album Down To Today by Senakah (Worlds of Wayne Podcast) by noelhogansoloprojects http://www.facebook.com/seneca .ireland

Aaron Shanley does the singer-songwriter gig so well on his new single 'Try to Forget About Me'. We have pleasant lead vocals aided with female harmonies over an inoffensive gentle guitar rift with in depth lyrics. This is a great tune! Directed by Darren Lee Maverick Renegade Productions www.maverickrenegade.net http://www.facebook.com/aarons hanley Aaron is touring the UK & Ireland over the next few months beginning with an EP launch in Belfast on Wednesday: [...]

![List: Best Bands in Boyles [This Year]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2948440_lg.jpg)
I've been very fortunate to be part of something special in Slane village for the last 18 months. I've discovered some new great talent there and brought up some wonderfully talented people. Here's a few tunes from the bands who blew me away with their talent. There have been some brilliant acts to play Boyles including bands like Arrow in the Sky, Saramai and the Swords, Shaz Oye, Wayne Brennan, Garry O'Brien and Resurrection Fern. Here's a few more bands who made [...]

I've been rather quiet on the blog of late. Like many Irish people I'm shocked and angry that the people in charge of the country have simply let us all down with no sign of hope. I want to use this blog to promote the positive events happening to give us a lift even for a few hours. If anyone has an event they want plugged here please get in touch. [...]

Just a little update to say that Kiernan McMullan will be back in Ireland in October for a few gigs. He's a superb guitarist and songwriter and comes highly recommended. http://www.myspace.com/kiernan m Check out a couple of songs from his recently released EP called 'The Best Part' Will You Be Gone by kiernanmcmullan [...]

Kiernan McMullan has spent the last year touring all over the US making many new friends and fans along the way. To aid the financing of his next album Kiernan has announced the following: It is now time to get back into the studio and record a new full length album! However driving around the country and trying to keep myself alive has left me a little short on our goal for funds to record the new album. I just want to re state that I am not signed to any label currently and make [...]

It's been just over a year since I discovered the musical oasis Boyles in historic Slane. If it was in walking distance of my house I'd be 'Norm' from Cheers! Here's a little mix of songs from some of the best acts to have played Boyles in the last twelve months. Wayne Brennan - In My Hands Wayne was the first established artist I seen live in Boyles. He had [...]
![Top 50 Irish Acts - Part 2 [31 - 40]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2439423_lg.jpg)
This week [Monday - Friday] I'm counting down my Top 50 artists in my humble opinion at this moment in time. The artists are to have released an album/ep or played a gig since Jan 2009 in order to qualify for the list. 31. Junah Junah are another act in my top 50 who are preparing the release of their debut album after many years perfecting their sound. Their folk rock music full of big sound is elevated by the great vocal harmonies in their songs. [...]
Nearly a year ago to the day inspired by The Irish Times compiled best 50 Irish acts at that moment in time I posted my Top 50 of Irish Artists. The only stipulation was that the artist had to gig or release an album in the last 12 months prior to the compiled list. My choices last year were based on bands and artists who I connected with at the time. 1. The Swell Season/Frames/Glen 2. Terry Sutton 3. Martin Finke 4. Pony Club 5. Lisa [...]

The best thing about organising your own sessions night in a venue is the great sense of pride you get when everything about the night works. The major success story was the acoustic rock from The Whiskey Limbs. It was energetic and full of emotion and humour from a band with the right attitude. Their three part harmonies and country lyrics were just wonderful. The whole night helped to life my spirits to face the difficult year ahead. [...]

Just added today to YouTube, the official video for Kiernan's new song 'That Afternoon'

It's been a few days now since the launch of The 2UIBestow Sessions in Boyles, Slane and I have to admit it went very well. Ham Sandwich were hugely impressive especially with the inclusion of Sarah on violin which adds an extra spark to their sound. I'm looking forward to the Whelans gig next Saturday night. Ruairi Coogan showed massive signs of improvement and Blind Pilots were a great start to the night. However Limerick based Kiernan McMullan played an amazing set of five tunes which captured the attention of the 100 strong crowd. Check out That Afternoon: [...]

Blind Pilot from Dundalk have been added to the bill so it will be a 9pm sharp kick off time! See you there? Right! If you're in Limerick this Friday you should catch kiernan McMullan's big headline gig in Dolan's! This Friday i'm really looking to finally catch A Lazarus Soul in [...]
