Today we continue our live music roundup for the month that was supposed to be warm but wasn't -except for the week we spent in the land of free beer and barbecue. Day 2 of our 4-day countdown of the best of the year. Part 1 (80-61) can be found here . To recap: AlbatRoss and I had 2 guidelines we stuck to in compiling this list: 1) it had to be rap (meaning no R&B - Frank Ocean and Miguel had killer years but they won't be found on this list) and 2) one song per project on the list. We did this (including honorable mentions, of course) to make sure we brought a good variety from the list and not to overcrowd the 80 with hits from a distinct few [...]

Part of the TDE crew of LA rappers including Schoolboy Q and Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul continues in the ways of socially conscience rappers like Mos Def. Be sure to check out his side project Black Hippy with his TDE label mates, and frequent collaborations with the likes of A$AP Rocky and Childish Gambino. ♩Ab-Soul - Illuminate (feat. The first week in our 2012 Annual Report has come to an end. But what an end it is: our Top 50 Songs of 2012. For this list, we took into consideration the tracks that not only spoke to the year, but each respective act's ability to grow and engage their mind, genre, and sound. That might sound spiritual and what have you, but okay, maybe you're not a fan of dreamcatchers and stuff. Whatever. Feel free to let us know what you think, including some tracks you'll take into 2013 with you. Also, stay tuned [...]

Killer Mike didn't just do a music video for "Big Beast", he did a short-film. The song is off his recently released LP, R.A.P. Music, which was produced entirely by El-P. The song also features Bun B, T.I. and Trouble and is a definitely banger. Watch the clip below.
Killer Mike gives the 2012 "Zombie Apocalypse" its first anthem. Here's the lead single from Mike's new record, 'R.A.P. Music,' featuring Bun B, T.I., and Trouble, with production by El-P.
This week for videos just fucking absolutely ruled , so before we get into what made this list, let's take a moment for all the videos that missed the cut. Among the casualties: Two eye-grabbing clips for A-list indie anthems, a mind-warping and visually sumptuous CocoRosie clip , a great bare-bones performance video , a legitimately funny minute-long sketch , a fun-to-watch fantasy/empowerment thing , a typically-engrossing ASAP Rocky video , a visually gorgeous and kinda-racist treatment of a massive pop-star duet, and a Willie Nelson video [...]

Killer Mike's video for Big Beast meets somewhere between incarcerated rapper/cannibal Big Lurch , and a Robert Rodriguez movie. The video for Big Beast is directed by Thomas C. Bingham. The song itself is off of Killer Mike's new album R.A.P. Music which is produced by El-P who makes a cameo as the driver rocking a Ronald Reagan mask. Video and tourdates after the jump: ( noisey ) [...]
Killer Mike's R.A.P. Music is an unusual album-a throwback to the energy of early Public Enemy and Ice Cube updated with the clanging retro-future sounds of El-P's signature production. I doubt highly that P.E. or Cube ever proposed a video with flesh eating strippers, though. The video for Mike's "Big Beast" is a doozy-9 minutes that combines performance footage with a robbery narrative inspired by last year's much buzzed about Drive . Like Drive , "Big Beast" features a heaping helping of the ol' [...]
An extremely gore-filled, NSFW, and ambitious music video coming from Killer Mike on the single "Big Beast," featuring T.I., Bun B, and El-P as the getaway driver. Look out for a convenience store holdup, a straight razor going through a robbers tongue, zombie strippers, and a pretty aggressive car chase.
Killer Mike’s video for "Big Beast," featuring Bun B, T.I. and Trouble (who does not appear), does not fit the prototypical rapper heist/strip club narrative. Instead, it shares more with Nicolas Winding Refn's getaway flick ... read more

Killer Mike drops a new video for the lead single "Big Beast" featuring Bun B, T.I., Trouble & El-P, off R.A.P. Music . iTunes: R.A.P. Music - Killer Mike
We'll title this as a video, but what Mike and director Thomas C. Bingham did for "Big Beast," the intro song to R.A.P. Music, is nothing short of a mini-movie [...]
Everyone knows A.D.I.D.A.S., so everyone should know Killer Mike. The man has been seeing some critical success with the release of his latest album R.A.P. Music. which has gained "universal acclaim" on Metacritic. Today, we have the release of his 10-min music video "Big Beast," which in summary makes rap videos look good again. The vid is entertaining and has everything you'd expect; robbery, guns, money, and scary-but-sexy strippers. iTunes: R.A.P. Music - Killer Mike
Killer Mike 's awesome single "Big Beast" has been given the official video treatment and it packs just as much punch as the track itself. The R.A.P. Music featuring track video sees murder, robbery and masks in the forefront and features a fair bit of blood and gore. T.I., Bun B and Trouble along with Mike all star in the video too and it clocks in at just under 10 minutes but damn it's worth the watch. POW. Killer Mike's El-P produced album R.A.P. Music is out now .
Well, this morning just got significantly more awesome. " Big Beast ," the ridiculously badass all-star first single from Killer Mike's excellent El-P-produced new album R.A.P. Music , has a nine-minute new video, and holy shit is it ever awesome. The clip features a Steven Seagal-style foiled convenience-store robbery, an entrail feast, an old-school car chase, Troma-esque gore, a knife murder, an axe murder, corpsepainted strippers, a prominent guest star in a Reagan mask, and three of the South's greatest rappers looking ridiculously cool. You really need to take the time to watch it, even [...]
