The Guardian is featuring Jarvis Cocker as its guest reviewer for Singles Club this week. Well, Jarvis and his kids. He's given a predictable mix of pop, alternative, and hip-hop. But his take on The Killers' "The World We Live In" is hilarious and spot on: The Killers – The World We Live In That title is just asking for trouble: what, you're gonna sum up the whole of human existence in 4mins 13secs are you Mr Flowers? OK, hit me. Apparently the planet we are inhabiting sounds like [...]
The important thing to remember about the Killers is that the band hails from Las Vegas, the city where the concept of time falls prey to glitz, fantasy and excess -- and the place that built a r... It's only been a few weeks since The Killers' Brandon Flowers declared that Kurt Cobain ruined rock'n'roll , but he's back at it again, and this time Nirvana isn't the only band in his sights. He'd also like to take this opportunity to talk trash about Led Zeppelin. Because hey, if you can be a famous singer you can at least be a famous douche bag. Flowers told NME.com that they're planning on using their upcoming North American tour to amp up their American audience to be on [...]

It's so nice when people who had differences can kiss and make up? Or at least lean toward one another without being blinded by rage and/or the Swarovski crystals studding Brandon Flowers ' shirt. [ kanYe West: Blog ]

Filed under: Potent Quotables "Kurt Cobain and grunge took the fun out of rock 'n' roll." -- Brandon Flowers In a recent interview , the Killers ' frontman critiqued his rock forebears for being so glum. Hey, we can't all be 'Mr. Brightside.' Next Quote Download The Killers Songs

Mr. Brightside (errr Brandon Flowers) recently declared that "Kurt Cobain and grunge took the fun out of Rock N Roll". He cited his own band as making Rock N Roll more "playful and brighter". This statement was made almost 15 years to the day of Kurt Cobain's death. Coincidence? PR spin? I guess you can be the judge.
If speaking ill of the dead is taboo, where do we land on speaking ill of dead legendary rock stars? Brandon Flowers is about to find out, as comments The Killers ' lead singer made about the grunge movement and its revered leader, Kurt Cobain , were published today and are already making waves across the web. Today's NME Daily Gossip found this little gem in UK tabloid The Daily Star : “I don’t mean it in a bad way, but I think Kurt [...]

Apparently Brandon Flowers' growing rage over the misunderstanding of his lyrics has finally taken its toll on The Killers - word in the rumor mill is that the bandmates have had just about enough of each other. According to UK tabloid The Daily Mirror , a "band insider" said that the strain between the guys was caused by their relentless touring schedule. "They're exhausted. They haven't had a break since they first formed and it has started getting to them," the source said. "When [...]

NEW KILLERS EP The Killers newest LP Day & Age is crammed full of the same working-man-with-mascara pop we've come to know and love from the group, one of the standout tracks being the wild outer limits ride that is "Spaceman". Well it turns out the foursome is releasing a Spaceman EP, featuring the titular track as well as two other songs, an unreleased b-side called "Tidal Wave" and a wonderful cover of "Four Winds" by Bright Eyes. The diatribe on modern America, while a definitive Oberst [...]
So apparently, I have a bit of a reputation of being a Killers lover. This label was only reinforced by last week's Under Cover: The Killers ' "Mr. Brightside". In my defense, I would like to say that I'm not one of those fan girls who has scribbled Mrs. Brandon Flowers all over my notebook (it wouldn't matter; he's married) and my love for the Killers is a lot more practical than how "hott" I rate him. No, I honestly can admit that what I [...]

Ya hace algunas semanas les habíamos contado del nuevo disco de Starsailor , All The Plans , e incluso les habíamos puesto el primer sencillo de la producción , el tema "Tell Me It's Not Over" .

This is one of those crappy Youtube videos that's just going to make you jealous of people who were actually at this concert, but it's DEFINITELY worth the post. Three of our generation's biggest rock stars (all with correspondingly big egos) performed together the other night at a War Child benefit concert, playing arguably the Killers' best song, "All These Things That I've Done." A high-quality video has yet to surface, so now we're stuck with 3 or 4 crummy ones on Youtube. Watch the video below (my personal favorite of the crap), and allow Chris Martin, Bono, and Brandon [...]

After last night's Brit Awards, the Killers and Coldplay hustled over to the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire for a concert benefiting the international charity War Child , which released an all-covers comp featuring the likes of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Franz Ferdinand earlier this week. Coldplay's first encore involved Take That member Gary Barlow coming out on stage for a cover of the British boy band's "Back For Good," and that was followed by Brandon Flowers —and Bono—joining that group for a rousing version of [...]
