The Killers Release New Christmas Single/Video “Boots”

Continuing their tradition of releasing a Christmas single each year, Las Vegas' own Killers have unveiled their fifth festive tune today called "Boots". All proceeds from the Christmas singles benefit the Product Red campaign. Whether they are inspired by Santa's footwear or terrible U2 singles, one thing is sure, this is the only new Killers tune you will get for a while as the "on hiatus" band awaits Brandon Flowers' solo efforts to cool off. "Boots" is the title of The Killers' fifth consecutive Christmas single and considering it comes during the band's still ongoing hiatus, the fact all its proceeds benefit World's Aid Day isn't the only reason the song is an intriguing listen. So to summarize, only Barack Obama and Christmas have the power to reunite The Killers these days. For those interested in picking up a copy of their own, you can do so here . Although their lead singer is still traipsing around the world on a solo tour, The Killers still managed to put together a fine Christmas gift for their fans. As they've been doing since 2006, the Las Vegas quartet, who's still on hiatus mind you , will continue the tradition by issuing "Boots" on November 30th (via NME ). No word on how it'll sound, or what this says about the band, but you can feel good in knowing that all proceeds from the single will go towards World AIDS Day, which falls on December [...]

Brandon Flowers' flamboyant show at the Wiltern Theatre on Wednesday night was all about his voice, that big, booming instrument that's hardly ever dialed back on the material on his solo album, "Flamingo," an homage to his home Las Vegas. The highlight for me was when guitarist Andy Summers of the Police joined the Killers' frontman band onstage for the encore to perform "Roxanne."
