That's about to change, as the Sisters announced they will release their long-awaited third record , 'Night Work,' on June 28. "It's an album with a big heart, some killer dance moves and some simply gigantic tunes," the Scissor Sisters wrote on their website.

Filed under: News , New Music While Kinks frontman Ray Davies joins millions of British Invasion fans in waiting on his brother and guitarist Dave Davies to decide if he wants to reunite the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band, the singer-songwriter is continuing to find new ways to re-examine his legendary band's catalog. Having viewed the Kinks through the eyes of choirs with ' The Kinks Choral Collection ,' he now will see the band through some of music's [...]
Here we have another talented new band coming out of the UK with a recently released single that is definitely starting to turn heads. The band is called Isolated Atoms and their single is called Tell Me What I Want . After giving the song a few listens , I can definitely say that I want to hear more from the band. Stylistically the song, to me evoked thoughts of dance-rock also-rans, Every Move A Picture and the Killers (circa the first half of Hot Fuss ) with its energy and overall vibe. The band definitely appears to [...]

Filed under: News , New Music , Exclusive , Movies Alexandra Patsavas, the music supervisor for the ' Twilight ' films, doesn't want to pick a favorite when it comes to the 15 tracks on the ' New Moon ' soundtrack. "Oh gosh, that's like asking a mother to pick her favorite child," Patsavas tells Spinner. After a long pause, she admits, "I'm especially proud that Thom Yorke agreed to be on the soundtrack." For his part, the Radiohead frontman submitted the unreleased, exclusive solo [...]

Filed under: News , New Music , Exclusive New York City dance-rock combo the Bravery hit the road earlier this month for a series of dates in anticipation of the release of their new album, 'Stir the Blood.' "I very much feel like we are making music only because we like it, as opposed to doing it as a reaction to something else," frontman Sam Endicott tells Spinner. These days, the Bravery, who were considered part of a new rave revival surrounding their 2005 self-titled debut, and [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , New Music , Exclusive No matter how far Juliette Lewis has come with her music, she'll never be able to shake her other, more famous career, especially when it comes to sharing big festival bills. "Playing a lot of these festivals, I'm always the resident freak show," Juliette Lewis tells Spinner. "I joke I'm like the bearded lady cause not only am I female playing what's considered male-dominated rock 'n' roll, but I'm also an actress." Lewis is [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , New Music , Exclusive Irene, a member of Cincinnati pop act Bad Veins , is truly the perfect band mate. The 36-year-old is always on time. She never complains about lack of sleep, money or time off. And she's perfectly fine staying out of the spotlight, allowing guitarist-singer Ben Davis and drummer Sebastien Schultz to answer all the questions. Granted, this is because Irene is a 1973 reel-to-reel tape player. But that doesn't make her any [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , New Music , Exclusive Andrew Stockdale may be playing with a completely new band, but one thing's for sure -- the name Wolfmother will remain the same. However, it wasn't necessarily Stockdale's decision to keep the moniker. "I did call [the band] something else -- White Feather," Stockdale tells Spinner. "We played some shows in Brisbane and Sydney, and people just kept calling it Wolfmother. Even on the radio, they were just calling it Wolfmother." [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , New Music , Exclusive Shortly before the Killers took to the stage at this year's Coachella, Wolfmother 's Andrew Stockdale sat Spinner down to clarify a few things : Wolfmother is still a band, they have a new album and they plan to tour. Same as it ever was. The only thing that's changed is the band itself: Stockdale is the sole original member of what once was a power trio and is now a four-piece. [...]

Filed under: News , Holy Hell , New Music What are U2 afraid of? Oh, the usual -- Coldplay . The veteran rockers admit that the Killers and Kings of Leon are also on that list, though they are equally inspired by them. "In our heads that's who we're up against," Bono told the BBC of their musical competition. "You've got to keep an eye on the youth. Coldplay are such an extraordinary band with [...]
Here's a fun little DIY video from L.A. singer-songwriter Sara Lov's cover series. Lov, whose debut album "Seasoned Eyes Were Beaming" comes out March 17, covers Silversun Pickups' "Kissing Families," with sideman/producer Zac Rae playing a small piano. And, yes, that's SSPU frontman Brian Aubert joining in on tambourine. Speaking of the Pickups, their sophomore effort "Swoon" is out April 14. They talked a little about it in a MySpace bulletin Tuesday. The tracklisting: There's No Secrets This Year / The Royal We / Growing Old Is Getting Old / It's Nice [...]

Being totally in love still with my new mp3 turntable (ION TTUSB05XL) I couldn't resist the opportunity to dig back through some of the piles that seem to take up every square inch of floor space here at the Ripple Office, and pull out some of the 7 inch singles that have made their way into our office and give them a spin. What I found was a previously unheard treasure of mini-vinyl nirvana. Eulogies - "If I Knew You" b/w Sea Wolf - "You're a [...]
