The Killers release a new holiday song every year and this year is no different. Christmas music is one thing that I can honestly say I dislike heavily. This song was annoying on first listen. Maybe I'm just a Grinch or Scrooge. Answer this though... Is that Tim Harrington in that picture? THE KILLERS - COWBOY'S CHRISTMAS BALL

This is honestly the last of the U2 covers I am interested in hearing. It has more to do with that fact that "Ultra Violet (Light My Way)" is one of my favorite U2 songs of all time than with who is covering it. But The Killers do a great job taking on the song, it has a different sound than the original but still turns out really good. Not sure when, but I assume the Achtung Baby tribute will be out soon. Download available in the Cloud below.
Q Magazine’s tribute to U2’s 20-year-old Achtung Baby has borne great fruit so far – the magazine’s recruited alternative rock artists from Jack White to the Killers to deliver their interpretations of their favorite tracks from the record. The talented young gentleman that goes by the name of Benjamin Francis Leftwich has offered up some brand new music for his fans. Well, kind of as for the price of your email address which isn't a lot to ask for nowadays is it, you can download a free covers EP on which he performs renditions of some of his favourite tracks. The EP contains covers of The Killers' "When We Were Young",Bruce Springsteen's "Atlantic City", Arcade Fire's "Rebellion" and Tom Petty's "Won't Back Down". As well as those four he performs a great cover of Kings of [...]

The Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci is set to release his debut solo album, ' Big Talk ', on July 19. Vannucci recorded the album in The Killers hometown of Las Vegas teaming up with producer Joe Chicarelli (The Strokes) for the album. Fans who wish to hear the album ahead of its release can stream the entire 12-track album below. The drummer is set to announce dates in the coming weeks for a solo tour in support of the release.

If you handed me a map and told me to point to Finland I could do that with relative ease (thanks to a pricey liberal arts education), it's that little country that looks sort of like a demonic claw that borders Sweden and Russia. Okay, first off what the hell does this have to do with listening to music (as the name of the site implies)? Well, to answer that question, Yes Please! is a genre-less band that calls this relatively cursory country its home. The band is composed of vocalist/guitarist Mikael, backing vocalist/guitarist Teppo, and bassist/backing vocalist [...]

This post is a "QuickPick". QuickPicks are my attempt at getting all of the music that's sent to me that I like (or just music I like but have no words for because it's so awesome), out into the dubya dots. Any time I get sent music that I like I "star" it in Gmail and then go back and listen to it a day later. If it's still as good as it was a day before then it goes up on the site, but sometimes I get backlogged and can't get through writing [...]

Now this is what I'm talking about BFlo. After listening to the few tracks from Brandon Flowers ' solo debut album, made available to us by these great internets, it was too easy to just file Flamingo (that's the name of said album) under The Killers umbrella. But it's campy MGMT-esque pop tunes like "Only The Young" that offer some kind of differentiation between Flowers' world-famous band and, well, Flowers. Hear the track below: We first heard a glimpse of "Only The Young" when Flowers' team [...]
I'm not sure how many more songs from his album are going to be played on the radio and subsequently ripped, but I don't suppose it's a bad thing, right? Just a few days ago I posted FOUR more new songs from his album "Flamingo", that's on top of the already radio-ripped "Swallow It" and "Crossfire" , and now there are these two which apparently appear as bonus tracks on the deluxe edition. I can't remember the site that I found them on, so apologies for the lack of "via" linkage, but give them a [...]
These four new songs from B-Flow's upcoming debut solo album "Flamingo" were played on various radio stations over the last couple of days, so what you hear below are shitty are radio rips. When his last song "Swallow It" leaked I thought it was terrible. I still do, it might just be one of the most atrocious songs of the year . No seriously, it's awful. These new songs though are actually pretty decent and I found myself repeatedly listening to "Only The Young". When it was announced a few months back about his solo album, it [...]

As Brandon Flowers' September 6 release date for his debut solo album Flamingo creeps closer, Killers fans the world over may be singing along to "Swallow It", the latest song to sprout up from the Flowers' Las Vegas bejeweled lair. As expected, "Swallow It" is a cheeky little song with strategically-chosen inappropriate lyrics that aren't as shocking as one would think. What is shocking, though, is how little this track actually is; it goes against everything I thought I knew about Brandon Flowers and his Killers aesthetic. Where is the over-the-top Vegas grandeur? Where [...]

After Brandon Flowers ' debut solo single "Crossfire" proved that BFlo's Flamingo LP won't be much of a departure from the Killers' sound, we have this "Crossfire" b-side, "On The Floor 2.03 to listen to. Presumably, "On The Floor"-proper will be on the full-length, and "2.03 is just an acoustic version of the track, recycling for single-releasing purposes. That said, "On The Floor 2.03 is still a nice ditty, featuring only Flowers' unique voice and a strummin' guitar before introducing a choir to back our Golden Boy up. The song would actually not feel out of place [...]

I'm always being held captive by Ninjas and having Charlize Theron rescue me. What can I say, I'm a lucky guy (or unlucky depending on how you look at it). Apparently it happens to Brandon Flowers a lot too because in this candid clip for his new video you can see him being held hostage by a bunch o' ninjas and Charlize (we're on first name terms) bursts in and rescues him. Then it happens again, and again. She's like the Santa of ninja rescue operations. Brandon Flowers - "Crossfire " (Radio rip) [...]

And so Brandon Flowers' debut solo single hits the radio somewhere, propelling a high quality radio rip into the interwebs and onto my lap. Real quick - the single's called "Crossfire", it will be on Brandon Flowers (The Killers' front-man, if you're not following) debut solo album called Flamingo ; he loves to remind us he's from Las Vegas, that one. Of Flamingo, we know a little bit - we know it will be released sometime in September 2010. We also know it will feature production by some huge names Stuart Price (Madonna, Seal, New Order), Daniel [...]

On April 29th The Killers had a countdown clock-thinger on their site and when it got to zero the page refreshed and it announced that lead singer Brandon Flowers is releasing his debut solo album called "Flamingo" and that it was "coming soon". Well that "soon" has come and you can now hear his first song from his first solo album below, ripped from the radio. The song isn't too far removed from The Killers sound and to be honest, it's nothing special. If the rest of his album is like this then it'll be pretty tame. Anyway, [...]

The Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers is due to release his debut solo album Flamingo fairly soon. We now have a taste of that album in the form of the song "Crossfire" which has found its way on to YouTube. Check out "Crossfire" below.
