Alpine , the six-piece synth-pop ensemble from Australia, just released a pastel fantasia of a video for their catchy new single "Gasoline." Edited to a fluid stutter that brings to mind one of my favorite music videos of all time (Carpark North's " Human "), Alpine's "Gasoline" dream features half-naked dancers (also a perennial favorite) floating and whipping through an Easter-egg haze, unfurling themselves like a kaleidoscope. Psychoanalysis...artist in an asylum... possible cliches that are luckily overshadowed by Kimbra 's pure awesomesauce at bein' too darn catchy. Kimbra lent her voice to a certain megahit and is definitely capable of running solo on the pop track with her debut album "VOWS." Check her voice here (one of the coolest collabs/things she's ever done ever) and respect her range from that to "Come Into My Head." Enjoy the show.
