The mega-fun occasional party series we started a couple years back and throw together with local art/music/fashion/design blogs, better known as 2ManyBloggas, will come to life again this October 1 at Merlin. On the occasion of Budapest's annual design week activities beginning that week, we've labeled this edition as "Well-Designed" and the participant blogs will accordingly make some creations they consider to be... er... well-designed, all of which will be displayed at the venue. In addition to the blogger contributions there will be some bitchin' live and dj sets per usual, along [...]
TMX is one-third of our local Budapest Kollektiva crew, and a producer/solo dj in his own right as well. He's recently put together a series of mixes with summer in mind - the first of which has our sandal-wrapped feet tapping away. As you can see by the tracklist, it's filled with some upbeat 'house-y', nu-disco and electro faves which works really well for those rare moments when the kunkers aren't mega-focused on their own mixes . :) So... download, listen, and give some love for TMX. And if you happen to be in [...]

Kunkers are still in recovery mode after last weekend's shenanigans - however, no rest for the wicked as we've got quite the barnburner coming up this April 30, at Merlin, presented together with our mates, Kollektiva . Joining us in Budapest will be no less than the so-called 'Andy Warhol of dance music' and godfather of all things filthy, dirty, and electro: Larry Tee ! In typical Kunk pre-party fashion we've got some tracks to share and an interview with the man himself. So, get your fill after the jump! [...]
Song in featured Malente & Jay Robinson - Dwarfs (Sharkslayer remix)
We're a bit late on this and by the time you read this you probably already know: They have done it again. Buffetlibre DJs have asked musicians and other DJs to mess with their favorite tracks from the 70s, 80s, and 90s of the past century. They compiled the results and now offer the world a ridiculously long list of 89 tracks to download, for free. That's right: eightynine! I still can't believe it. I can hardly come up with the time to listen to all this music. It goes beyond my imagination how Marc and [...]

Krisztian from Ektiv sent over the lastest track by Budapestonians Tits & Clits who were featured on this blog earlier . On their new tune they let good and evil clash in a final battle. I guess good prevails. I might be mistaken though, what do you think? (I don't really care. It's a banger!) Download audio file (Tits_and_Clits_-_Armageddon.m p3) Tits & Clits - Armageddon Popbitch was so kind to also send over an edit by We Plants [...]
I have to begin this post with a confession: until about a little more than two years ago I almost didn't listen to electronic music. I mean, I liked the Infadels and some Daft Punk, but I liked indie rock and folk a good deal better. (And of course I liked Justice's remix of Simian's "We Are Your Friends" when it first surfaced.) But what won me over for electronic music, especially for dancing, was this one guy who helped his girlfriend play some electro music (MSTRKRFT and similar) to a crowd of kids at a weekly indie rock party [...]

I'm not sure if Ed Banger is over the top, or beyond the pale, or in a ditch, or blissfully unaware... could be all of these options together. I'd suggest the argument that a new way forward was needed was best crystallized by Bidabibi's total evisceration of Busy P's track a few months back. Whether you side up with that view or not, there's no doubt the label now sits at the point where it needs to decide whether to either rest on laurels, or find something new or dare we say authentic. Say what you [...]
