If April showers bring May flowers, it also brings the 1st of May and its gentle joys. Dully glory this Labour day by savoring your 24 hours holiday! The right time to adopt a frolic lifestyle, dress your hair with Lilies Of The Valley crowns, carol under a parasol, have an improvised picnic in a [...]

All Night Long - Lionel Richie It'll be all white on the night! Ha ha, should be good all right. We'll be dancing all night long (all night), all night long (all night)! One of the downsides of booking me to DJ a big White Party is that those phrases will keep popping out of my [...]

It's that time of year again! Alas, it's one I haven't had the pleasure of enjoying full throttle since 2006, the year I left the United States for the new world ( my new world: Argentina). Today my friends and loved ones back home are celebrating Labor Day. Though the meaning of the holiday, the first Monday in September, should be self-explanatory from its name (a celebration of people with jobs, which might not be much of one this year, considering the unemployment rate in the U.S.), I doubt that most people ever stop to think [...]
This Labor Day, I decided to give the list over to a close friend that knows exactly what you need to hear to get through a rough day at work. He should know, he's a bartender. So, I had this whole list planned for Labor Day songs. You know the list; songs [...]

It's that time of year again, when we all celebrate the final days of summer (at least here on the east coast...), and take off a day of work to celebrate the working men and women (and as we pointed out before, is a complete socialist holiday, so if you talk shit about socialists, you should probably go to work.) There's some big labor day concerts near me, although tickets are way too expensive, and the only band worth seeing is X (the others on the lineup are Pearl Jam, Skrillex, Jay-Z... ok Jay-Z might be worth seeing). [...]

FYF Fest expands to two days. Finally, something to do over Labor Day weekend other than talk to friends about work!

Wrote this yesterday over one of my favorite beats ever. Decided to release it for the holiday. Hoping it connects with you. Oh, also…don’t forget Afraid of Heights drops 10/31/11 Halloween. Peace and love. From becoming the Chicago kid who can spit and then being noticed as J. Cole 's shadow, Omen has built up enough credibility to show he can do this on his own This song is just proof of it. The kid can spit. Omen went on his tumblr to explain the release of his song (above in quote). [...]

My Camera has seen many battles and this puppy is almost ready to retire. Sorry for the blurry pics, but it gets really hot, and steamy down in the basement which alters the quality... Oh well, if you weren't there this is what you get to see. Labor Day 2011 we celebrated the only way we know how! Quality Music, and Family atmosphere in the heart of China Town. The night was very special as we celebrated Guillermo (SF) & Raul Sanchez Aka -Roll (LifeStyle) Birthdays in the basement. Li Po was full [...]

Phish = pot of gold? | Photo by @phortin When Phish decides to completely blow your mind with three straight shows, six sets, 70 songs, and over 9 hours of music, it's tough to write about the experience. It really is. I've written a few now deleted paragraphs that just can't do the Labor Day Weekend justice. It was truly some of the best Phish I've ever seen . A few weeks ago I wrote about the Gorge and the most defining jam of 3.0 (to these ears) in the [...]

I hope everybody had a fun and safe Labor Day Weekend! This past weekend, I was lucky enough to go up to Vegas with some college buddies and take in an epic show by Tiesto! It was at the concert hall inside the Hard Rock and he played from 1:00 AM to 4:00 AM. Everything he played was awesome. He perfectly controlled the crowd with his light show, his smooth transitions, and his epic drops. I guess there's a reason why he's the "#1 DJ in the World", said in a euro-british voice. Anyways, after that kind of concert and [...]
Featuring: Action Bronson, Chace Infinite, Wais P, Termanology, Scram Jones, PUSH! Montana & Freddie Gibbs. I know what you're thinking..with a list of names that long this is probably another one of those tired, overcooked posse cuts with too much polish and hype to be worth listening to. Fortunately, Statik Selektah brings the real on this production with a dope organ loop and a bevy of dope MCs. Population Control is coming October 25th (Showoff/Duck Down). this ain't that lil wayne zebra-print legging rap
