As if adulthood and drug phases hadn't already deluded our memories of childhood pop culture, now, because of reddit user collectwin , none of us will be able to watch Jim Henson's eerily awesome "Labyrinth" the same again. "Decided to rewatch 'Labyrinth,'" writes the eagle-eyed redditor. "Anyone notice Bowie's face in some scenes?" As it turns out, Ziggy's mug is all over the place in the 1986 trippy flick. Yeah, I had no idea either. But one YouTuber beat us all to the punch. Back in 2010, stickysnot uploaded [...]

David Bowie is indubitably one of the most influential artists of recent times. Across a career spanning some fifty years, he has repeatedly changed the way we look at the world; adjusted the face of fashion; altered the future of music forever. And so when on his 66th birthday Bowie released his first new song in ten years, it made for an unquestionably special moment. Bowie was back, and just as his latest LP The Next Day made for one of the most anticipated albums of this year thus far, the V&A's David Bowie is [...]
The visuals might be a bit too wilfully occult, but "Labyrinth" itself, the lead-off single from Austin-based dream pop outfit Boy Friend 's new four-track tape Secret City , is in itself another very strong reminder of the all-female trio's marvelous knack for light-footed, sorrowful melodies that will stay with you for days. Also, the video certainly has its charms, and there's no denying that it is somewhat appropriate. Watch it below. Secret City is out on Nigh-People . Order the cassette here .

Well, I totally forgot to post this when it was released, but since Labyrinth Ear are in town for CMJ, what better time to share it! "Urchin" is a moody track with a stormy bassline, twinkly synths and hypnotizing vocals. These two create such interesting tunes, I love the Asian influences in this one! I'm so eager to hear the rest of the music they've been working on, and hopefully I'll get the chance in a few days time when I see them play right in my backyard! If you're in [...]

The lighter side of music for the night, I'm sure they would disagree, claiming they rep the daylight, but to me the mood is deep, and is illuminated brightly by the moon. The tracks I've collected in this web-pile below are all FUCKING incredible, featuring electronics by Tom E, and as you know I'm a sucker for lady-vox, and I love the voice of Emily J. Make of this what you will, but I believe they deserve to be separated from the pack and elevated based on the work of the 5 tracks below, including a FREE DOWNLOAD [...]

London duo Labyrinth Ear is all about sonic and tonal balance. Tom Evans weaves together a futuristic and ominously cold mix that perfectly compliments the sexy whispers of Emily Jacobs, and the result is tracks like "Urchin," an icy tune that could melt your heart. Download MP3

Recently- Intro 'd Labyrinth Ear premièred their latest track, "Urchin" , over on Pretty Much Amazing , and it sounds pretty much great. I can only echo the Chromatics comparison: it's the bass that does it, since it's a dead ringer for "Tick Of The Clock" . Hey, there are worse bands to sound like than Chromatics . I can't help feeling that chanteuse Emily sounds particularly like Poliça 's [...]

It’s been a while since their pretty stunning Apparitions EP but now London Experimental SynthPop duo Labyrinth Ear are once again ready to treat our ears to some of the most interesting electronic music around. It’s been nearly a year since their last EP, but their new track, Urchin, let’s us know they haven’t been sitting on their laurels. A mixture of chimes and deep synthetic bassline greet you at the beginning of Urchin , sounding not unlike something from BladeRunner. Such futuristic connotations are soon shed, thought, as Labyrinth Ear launch into [...]
British electronic duo, Labyrinth Ear, released their new single “Urchin” just six months after their last EP, “Apparitions.” Music Player: Urchin.mp3 [...]
Labyrinth Ear return with their trademark smokey synth pop sound with a new track that is taken from their, as yet, unnamed debut album. 'Urchin' combines a lovely arp'd bassline and Emily's etheral vocals in what is a slight change from their more percussive output, but nevertheless it's a lovely piece of emotional synth pop. It shows off perfectly why we tipped this duo to go onto great things from the moment we first heard them 2 years ago. More please. https://www.facebook.com/labyr inthear
Labyrinth Ear the London duo who we featured on our massively popular 'Panic on The Streets of LDN' playlist earlier this year, have just premiered their new single online. 'Urchin' is a haunting, industrial pop track, with a continuous almost pounding electro synth beat which sits awkwardly a top of Emily's dark and brooding vocal. 'Urchin' is a slight departure from the duos previous tracks which had a much more artpop sound. It's available now as a free download from Soundcloud. Related Posts [...]

Following on from their amazing Apparitions EP, London's Labyrinth Ear have just unveiled an equally amazing new song called 'Urchin'. It sees (of course) the comeback of the hypnotic industial basslines we especially loved into their previously featured track ' Humble Bones ', but also the duo darkening their mystical, undulate patterns' tones and taking a further step towards Purity Ring’s haunting magic (Emily Jacobs' ghostly edited, childlike vocals sounds at times also pretty similar to Megan James' on this one). Stream and download it below.

Mp3: Labyrinth Ear - Urchin

It's been a minute since we heard from London industrial-pop duo Labyrinth Ear . The last we heard from them was earlier this year with the very enjoyable Apparitions EP. After a long wait, it looks like they are finally ready to release their full-length debut sometime in the very near future. The first single from the album dark and haunting "Urchin". Download the song below. MP3 : Labyrinth Ear [...]

Here's some very exciting new music coming from the most perfect sounding pair in the entirety of the UK music-scene right now, Labyrinth Ear . They make hypnotic music which leaves you feeling a little bit dazed, a little bit vulnerable and a little bit in love all at once. The duo stole my heart as soon as I heard this song all but a year ago, and I'm pleased to say Urchin is equally as spectacular - and - if there was just one act to pay attention to this year, I [...]
