A$AP Rocky and Lana Del Rey had the video going nuts yesterday thanks to their JFK and Jackie O themed video for "National Anthem" . They doubled up when A$AP's "My Bitch" featuring Del Rey hit the web a few hours later. This record is produced by the Kickdrums and was called "Ridin' Around" on some posts. Yesterday, we brought you the Lana Del Rey National Anthem video in which A$AP Rocky plays JFK, and today we learn she has returned the favor appearing on his new track Ridin. It was produced by The Kickdrums and was supposed to appear on a mixtape they released a while ago but now is being considered for release on Rocky's next album.
"Ridin'" has had its share of history. Originally slated to be on The Kickdrums mixtape until it got pulled. Now its back again, this time in its entirety and has every one guessing it's going to be on A$AP's LongLiveA$AP (September 11). Lana's sultry vocals and The Kickdrums' almost nostalgic production make this one. I love how they were able to capture her tradmark vintage style and Rocky's chill.
Playing Jackie O* to A$AP Rocky's JFK, Lana Del Rey slides into this luxurious cinematic role nicely, displaying an aptitude for assuming a leading lady position not entirely unlike that of her current role as resident label darling at Interscope. I’m still not a fan of Lana Del Rey and her permanent duck face , but in the past two days, these two have undoubtedly put out some pretty original material out.
