Today we'll be showing you how to make a fantastic [...]

King Khan and the Shrines - Land of the Freak [mp3] King Khan is reinstating one of his many outfits, as he and The Shrines return to the stage this spring with their "celebrated psychedelic soul big band explosion" on tour, ending with what is sure to be an awe-inspiring show at Coachella. Last year the band released the LP What Is It?! , one of three records King Khan put out in 2009. All dates below. 03-27 Atlanta, GA - The Earl 03-29 Carrboro, NC - Cats Cradle 03-30 [...]

I attended Sasquatch on Saturday. Being the poor planner that I am I brought zero food, I didn't slam any shots in the parking lot and I brought $0 in cash with me to pay the obscene $9 beer price. All of these failed efforts meant that I was most likely the only sober person at Sasquatch. Wallowing in my sobriety I made my way to the Wookie stage to get a good spot for King Khan & The Shrines . I had heard a lot about this band prior to Sasquatch, but had never acted on any opportunities [...]

King Khan and The Shrines are going out on tour later this week, and in celebration of this and their reissue of What Is?! , here's a look at the new video for "Land of the Freak". There is no denying King Khan's outrageous presence on stage, and there is nothing better to exemplify the force that is King Khan and the Shrines than the video for "Land of the Freak". The video itself was cut from 8mm footage from the Shrines' past European tours, and watching [...]
Much like pizza, you can listen to a thousand different garage rock bands for a thousand years...and as long as it's well made, you're gonna love it every time.
King Khan & The Shrines' new video for Land of the Freak was directed by Prichard Smith and cut with miles of 8mm Shrines footage filmed from past European tours, and various one-off dates in New York and beyond. King Khan & The Shrines - Land Of The Freak King Khan And The Shrines Tour Dates: 04-29 9:30 Club - Washington, DC 04-30 First Unitarian Church - Philadelphia, PA [...]
German-based dynamo's King Khan and The Shrines, mere days from unleashing What Is?! to American audiences for the first time, just couldn't wait any longer. They've decided to give listeners an early peek at the delightful romp via a full album stream at Imeem. The album that Pitchfork deemed "goofy, affecting, nostalgic, and cathartic all [...]
"Land of the Freak", extrait de What Is?! est une FOLIE de King Khan & The Shrines dont les performances live sont réputées aussi dingues que leurs chansons indie-funk-garage-rock, ou quelque chose comme ça. King Khan & The Shrines - Land of the Freak I'm conscious that there's been far too much acoustic-based, folk-related stuff on here lately, so here is something to electrify your Friday. If you're looking for a tune to get you in that "going out" mood, this may be the song for you. As with the Black Lips, this is third generation garage rock, Grandchildren of Nuggets (if you will), only King Khan has himself a brass section to fill things out with a funky flair. MySpace [...]
