"Weird Al" Yankovic visited The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last night, where he and his band of merrymen performed the celebrating-skewing "TMZ", from last year's Alpocalypse . After all, nothing says outrage over society's obsession with overindulgent pseudo-celebrities like a funky accordion beat. Watch the replay below.

It's been almost a year since The Kills released its fourth LP, Blood Pressures , but they're still out there going strong. Case in point, last night they swung by New York's Ed Sullivan Theater to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman , where they performed their latest single, "The Last Goodbye". We've digressed not once but twice now on how Alison Mosshart brings the "sexy" to modern rock, so here's a third time: If you're not under her spell, consider yourself immune. Even with the fiery Nicholas Cage in [...]

Primus continued their support behind last year's Green Naugahyde with a two-song set on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night. Les Claypool and co. played "Lee Van Cleef" on TV, saving the "classic rock" oomph of "Jerry Was a Racecar Driver" for the web. Watch both performances below. "Lee Van Cleef": "Jerry Was a Racecar Driver":

We've been hot to trot for all things Kevin Barnes this week, in no small part due to of Montreal 's best album in a minute, Paralytic Stalks . He was kind enough to make a playlist for us and sit down for an interview , an essential compendium for his latest LP, and likely for his performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. The band played their new single "Dour Percentage" off the latest LP, and true to form, eccentricity and funky pop reigned supreme in the performance. Check out the clip [...]

Conan's on a two-win streak right now. After shedding some spotlight on Alabama Shakes Tuesday night , Team Coco cleared the stage for Pennsylvania's own Dr. Dog on Wednesday. Out supporting their seventh LP, Be The Void , which hit stores this week, the psychedelic rockers knocked out a stormy cut of new track, "That Old Black Hole". Despite the song's lyrics, there certainly weren't any eggshells on the stage floor; in fact, you can consider this new material primed for the road. Check it out below, courtesy of The Audio Perv . Next week, The Cranberries will release their sixth album, and first in 11 years, Roses . To support the quasi-reunion record, the UK collective stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night to knock out the album's lead single ("Tomorrow") and scratch at the past with an online-exclusive cut of "Dreams". Sort of a choose your own adventure here, really: Do you move forward or keep looking back? Well, choose both below, courtesy of The Audio Perv. Either choice lends itself well to a solid soundtrack for V-Day. [...]

If you were bold enough to sit through Dr. Phil last night on Conan , then you probably caught a soothing performance by Alabama Shakes . The Southern troupe, who's been turning heads everywhere (including Jack White's), grooved to a country-fried rendition of their current single "Hold On". It was so good that the ginger late-night host screamed out an exasperated "Wow!" as he approached the stage towards the end. Check it out below, along with a Team Coco online exclusive clip of "I Ain't the Same", courtesy of The Audio Perv . Oh, and Mr. O'Brien? [...]
Last night at the Riot Room, the headliner took the stage in poppy-red lipstick and a gold, strapless tunic and announced, "My name is Estelle and I write songs about boys." As if anyone needed an introduction.… [ Read more ] [ Subscribe to the comments on this story ]

Justin Veron told SPIN earlier this week, "Whenever we listen to ["Beth/Rest"], we feel this extra… 'Yes. We're going to do this, motherfuckers.' It's not irony." The anthemic closer to last year's magnificent Bon Iver, Bon Iver may sound like its tuned to the sentiment of early 902s mainstream cinema (or maybe it's just this video that's been forever altered how I hear the song), but just take one listen to the solo piano version you'll find that underneath Hornsby/Winwood schmaltz there's quite a song there. But on [...]
It all seemed very dream-like: a band from East Los Angeles, playing rock and roll classics and Mexican corridos, inside of a 150-year-old barn in The Woodlands, all while I ate my dinner. Yet I... Continue reading "Last Night: Los Lobos at Dosey Doe" >
My first experience seeing Dr. Dog was a handful of years back, covering the Wakarusa festival in Lawrence. The band's show at one of the smaller side stages was under-attended (everyone else must have been tripping out to STS9 or Buckethead or something), but the most memorable thing about the performance was how hard the '60s-influenced band brought it for just a handful of onlookers.… [ Read more ] [ Subscribe to the comments [...]
Here is a list of things about the Ryan Adams show at the Music Hall last night: 1.) Alcohol was served in the lobby areas, but we weren't allowed to bring it into the theater. Prior to Adams' set, all the lines for booze were at least 50 people deep and not budging.… [ Read more ] [ Subscribe to the comments on this story ]
