Chan Marshall may well have (albeit belatedly) wound up in the UK last night though she wasn't stood out with the smokers of Euston Road, but instead busying herself with the serenading of Jools Holland's studio audience over at The Maidstone Studios, Kent where rather than revisiting anything from the abnormally rowdy Sun LP of yesteryear, she instead opted to air a slight obscurity entitled Bully. Ostensibly aimed right between Giovanni Ribisi's two peepers, the track plaintively harks back to  Cat Power  standout album  The Greatest as Marshall mourns the demise of better times, crooning [...]

Producer Shlohmo will be releasing a new EP Laid Out , March 5th on Friends of Friends. The 1st leak “Later” uses a distant sample to dazzle us into an intoxicating and addictive state.

Undoubtedly one of the highlights of 2012 for me was getting to see Shlohmo and the Friends of Friends crew take over Boiler Room in a crowded warehouse in downtown Los Angeles. RL Grime had one of the best sets I heard all year, and while Shlohmo's was a bit choppy, partly due to the insanity of the crowd, the track selection was simply unparalleled. Shlohmo is the master of stellar remixes and has been hailed as one of the best remixers of 2012 by pretty much every single blog out there, and rightfully so, but what people might forget in all the remix excitement is that he produces brilliant own material as well. Electronic music producer Shlohmo drops a track from his forthcoming EP, Laid Out . The song is titled "Later," and it's absolutely beautiful with its atmospheric bass synths and what seems to be a distorted vocal sample. Before I go on, let me say that I'm loving this friggin' sample. It's a great chunk of audio, and it's applied perfectly in this trap-style instrumental. The way the track progresses is fantastic, too, getting more and more intense with its jittery snares and hi-hats as the track moves along. Can't wait for this [...]

I post about The Staves quite a bit (A. Lot.) so I'll make this quick. From afternoon acoustic sessions at a lovely little festival in Dorset over a year ago to supporting Bon Iver within the gargantuan confines of The O2 in Dublin, The Staves have picked up quite a head of steam in recent weeks. Grimes did herself a great service in the great buzzband of 2012 stakes with this performance. It could have very easily fallen flat on its arse (a la LDR) and made anyone who has been championing her feel like a complete tit to the larger outside world watching her for the first time but you can hold your head high today internet. I missed this last night on the Tee Vee. Björk and her choir perform 'Crystalline'. Worth it for the drum and bass freakout alone. As with recent Björk albums, I'm finding Biophilia difficult to love. I think I need another four or five listens at least....

Never Say Die a propulsé sur orbite le lundi 6 Juin sa plus grosse sortie depuis sa création, parce que c'est un sept titres des Foreign Beggars , mais pas seulement puisqu'on retrouve un producteur différent par titres et on a affaire a du très lourd, du sauvage. L'EP commence avec celui qui fait rentrer le terme dubstep  dans de nombreux encéphales et crée un nouvel élan d'enthousiasme pour les mèches grasses et le teint pale c'est Skrillex qui ne nous surprend pas le moins du monde avec le titre Still [...]
