Though she had little impact in the EDM world, Whitney Houston, one of the most respected singers for the better part of three decades, has died. The Associated Press has reported that Houston passed away Saturday, though no other details were given. Houston's records amassed over 55 million sold during her career. She is best known for her influence on today's batch of female singers, her roles in ' The Bodyguard ' and ' Waiting To Exhale ' and, sadly, a controversial marriage to singer Bobby Brown. Of late, [...]
NERO has announced 'Must Be The Feeling' as the last single off 'Welcome Reality' and it is due out March 4th on MTA Records . Their killer line-up of remixes include Flux Pavilion & NERO, SebastiAn , Azari & III , Kill The Noise , and Brookes Brothers . All of NERO's music videos from singles off their debut album 'Welcome Reality' have had this futuristic 802s theme to them and surprisingly everyone's still loving it. 'Must Be The Feeling' is no different; the video starts out with Joe and [...]

After the wild success of the last Anomaly, with Porter Robinson and Bass Jackers fronting the bill, the show returns to Terminal 5 on Saturday, March 31st. With an awesome lineup that features EO favorite Pierce Fulton, Laidback Luke, Martin Solveig, and a rare NYC appearance by Felguk , this night is sure to be massive. Terminal 5 is also a fantastic venue for EDM, and I have seen many gigs there (including Justice and Boys Noize) and consistently been blown away by the production and sound quality. Tickets are on sale HERE . [...]

Last September, the Swedish House Mafia took over Pete Tong's duties at his Essential Selection show and put on, as expected, a memorable performance. The accidental comedic genius of the three Swedes was one thing, but the exclusive music they previewed was another. They debuted a few of the songs that became the sound track of the fall of 2011. Spinning the, then, unreleased ' Walking Alone ,' ' Raise Your Head ' and ' Otherside ' Third Party remix, among others. So, they're back and if there was ever [...]

I'm not sure how this leaked, but who cares. Thanks to Brandon Geist, editor of Revolver for the heads up. THERE IS A NEW MESHUGGAH TRACK IN THE WILD! I REPEAT...A NEW MESHUGGAH TRACK! I'm going to shutup and just let you listen. It's off their album, Koloss, which comes out March 27th.
The metal world is slightly less funny now that Anal Cunt frontman Seth Putnam passed away. In the wake of his death, Vice Magazine recently caught up with AC drummer Tim Morse who recalled some humorous tales of the band on the road. Here is my favorite tale from that story: The last show AC ...
Slipknot have a busy slate for 2012. They will be spending the summer on the Rockstar Mayhem Festival, and are planning some international touring as well. But the thing everybody wants is new music from the band. Frontman Corey Taylor has confirmed that there will eventually be a new album, and Clown has hinted at ...
We got our hands on a snippet from a new Ozzy Osbourne interview airing tonight during the launch of Ozzy Osbourne's new channel on Sirius XM satellite radio, Ozzy's Boneyeard (channel 38). Listen as the Prince of Darkness himself commented for the first time on Tony Iommi's lymphoma diagnosis. Here is an excerpt from that ...

Bounce Music Festival features a wide variety of electronic music artists over the entire month of March 2012. Delving into a lot of dance music subgenres, it's refreshing to see certain artists that you might not find on an ordinary club night; all featured in one festival. Spring break and great weather is always a plus and there's no reason why this won't be a widely talked about event for people to check out while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The first stage of the line up consists Paul Oakenfold, Savoy, Morgan Page, Arty, Tim Mason, [...]

Techno and house DJ Carl Cox recently said in an interview with Time Out London that he, "was playing dubstep three years before anyone even decided to call it dubstep, but [he] never got known for playing that style. [He doesn't] mind the now generation being seen as the pioneers, but there had to be a Carl Cox pushing the doors open for these guys." The statement has been causing a pretty huge stir within the dubstep scene, provoking comments (mostly jokes) from the likes of many so-called 'now generation' producers: [...]
UPDATE UPDATE: HOLY CRAP. Avicii is in the commercial around :24. This is huge for dance music. HUGE. Check it out and watch for the commercial to air during the Super Bowl. We wrote late Friday that Levels would be the soundtrack to the commercial, but its now confirmed that Avicii himself, in a flannel and beanie, shows his face. WOW.
Swedish import Avicii is becoming almost as American as apple pie or, as a better cliche, light beer. 'Levels,' after it's countless trips around the world, it's hip hop debut , and stint on HBO, is coming to the Super Bowl. Avicii leaked the trailer on his Facebook late Friday evening. Murmurs of 'Levels' (EO's No. 1 song of 2011) can be heard during the voice over. It's not known whether Mr. Bergling will actually be in the commercial. But it's fun to toy with the idea that the camera could be panning over to him [...]
I was pretty bummed when Martin Lopez left Opeth midway through the Ghost Reveries album cycle. But, the guy had a bunch of personal demons to deal with and needed time off the road. Well, it looks like he's cleaned up and had enough time to get his shit together so much so that he ...
Axwell won't be alone at Hammerstein Ballroom. Today, it was confirmed that NO_ID, Thomas Gold & Deniz Koyu will be the symphony around him for his Feb. 23 and 24 show. Cosmic Opera has been one of the most hyped events (not shows) in the NYC-area since, well, when the entire Swedish House Mafia took over Madison Square Garden . Cosmic Opera is sold out, but a final allotment of tickets will be on sale Feb. 7 at 10 a.m.
Well this sounds awesome. Deadline reports that cable network FX is developing a pilot executive produced by Dave Grohl and comedian Dana Gould (who also created and is writing the project). The show will focus on "a rock band on the verge of mega-stardom who finds itself on the verge of breaking up and is ...
Lamb Of God's Resolution charted at number 3 on the Billboard charts this week, with a whopping 52,000 copies sold in the United States in their first week. That is a great number for a heavy metal band. Looking back at their previous release, Wrath, shows that release actually did better, coming in at #2 ...
