Tiësto’s last minute birthday celebration at Lavo last Tuesday is a great example of the way that Twitter has become a potent factor in shifting social interactions. Last Sunday, Tiësto tweeted that he would be staying in NYC for a few days to celebrate his birthday, which elicited a response from Lavo inviting the DJ to spend his birthday at the midtown restaurant and club. Ho-Ho-Ho! Those dedicated enough to put down the egg-nog and head to Lavo on Christmas Eve were treated to an incredible night. Having not ventured to Lavo since the summer, I was thoroughly impressed with the renovations that the club had undergone, adding two GIANT HD LED Screens on either side of the DJ Booth, and a brand new CO2 Cold Fog System capable of covering the entire club with a dense haze. As usual, our hosts at Lavo spared no expense, providing guests with signature Lavo LED foam sticks, contributing significantly to the atmosphere of the party. [...]
